Which means no online only games, no division beta and no taking advantage of the double XP Black Ops. Wonder if it'll be down tomorrow when the DLC for Black Ops comes, there'll be quite afew pissed people to say the least.

May just be UK based at the minute or selected areas. Funny really cuz I was online and decided to take a break, came back and boom may as well take a longer break mate lol

Yeah the first pack since Sony got the 30 day exclusive deal, can see it back firing if it's not up and running.
I'm looking forward to it, Mid way through 9th prestige now and hoping to finish 9th and 10th on the new maps, from what I've seen they look pretty fun :)
Was going back on the division beta before it ended but looks like that plans shit outta luck lol

Why does everyone lose their minds when PSN goes down???

Most of the time it's only for a couple of hours, surely people must have something else to keep them occupied till it comes back on!

Because it's a paid for service.

The second I pay someone for something they should realise I'm also paying for my right to complain as a customer.

To me an inconvenience is an inconvenience doesn't matter if it's a few minutes or days. Give a company a inch and they'll take a mile.

I'm quite vocal like that though.

Hey it's guys like me who complain that make sure companies don't get away with everything..... You're welcome!

Of course there is no such perfect service however that doesn't excuse them (companies in general) from complaints.

The other day Three was messing about with something on their end which effected my Data (kept saying I was tethering when I wasn't) and it was only supposed to last a day. Fuck that shit, I called up and complained immediately! Got a weeks free line rental.

I don't let crap slide when I pay for things. The way I see it, I'm paying for a service and the second that service isn't working then I'm not getting what I paid for.

Don't forget, the second you forget to pay these companies, they'll cut your ass off in a heartbeat. So why should I be patient with them when they won't for me?

On the other side of that coin, when PSN was free you wouldn't get a complaint out of me. When something is free they can take that approach. The second they charge money they lose that right.

I'm not sure I've ever found mine. Does that make it justified?

As it happens this seemed to be for no more than an hour. Odd indeed.

As BBK said. I used to be able to deal with it and even sometimes this gen I've dealt with it but it's getting worse, stability worse, Plus titles worse and we do not even get notice anymore it just happens... We used to get a heads up, maintenance on the way so log in x amount of hrs before to get online. Now we get nothing and even if we've been logged in its still not accessible anymore.

How many ps4's are out there 38mil and whats the number with a Plus subscription, 28 mil? I don't know, but that's a hell of an amount of money from a subscription service that isn't stable and goes under maintenance regularly with no warning.

And what doesn't help this now days is only online games, no Destiny, FF, Need For Speed, The Crew etc. People cursed online only games for EA's shit servers or Ubi's shit servers yet most forgot to mention the shit unreliable network that we have to connect to first....

Yesterday was getting on for peak time with some time of the division beta left, some had only just got their codes and some had just finished the 27gb download for it and didn't even get to try it out. Complete waste of time and money.

Beats me. My internet goes down sometimes and you just have to deal with it. Sometimes my cell phone loses a signal.

Maybe if I was a kid I would get pissed because I have nothing else to do with my time. But today, if PSN is down, I have so many other things I should be doing instead anyways.

And that is exactly the problem as to why it would get people annoyed. Gaming is very much a luxury pastime. I'm lucky if I an hour a day currently.

If I'm busy and stressed from work and decide to hop online and the system is down that's fucking annoying.

The whole "it's only an hour" argument is rubbish. It doesn't matter however long it's gone down. Down is down and that hour might've been the only time someone could've played a game for that day or even week.

So you're already paying for a service you barely use as it is and then the time you do get to go online and it doesn't work and your supposed to take the in your stride?

It is not like you can not play any games though. If PSN goes down, your games don't just stop working. You just cant play online till it is back up.

I don't know, it just doesn't bother me like you guys. Now if it were down for more than 24hrs, then maybe I would get a little pissed off. But a few hours is no big deal.

But just as Gaz said. More and more games are becoming online only so then you can't even play those games.

Hell, I only own Destiny and while this outrage didn't effect me, it could've easily ruined my afternoon.

It's the principle which bothers me

At the minute for me that is the case, the 3 last games I've played are online only and the 4th being majorly MP orientated. That's why it's frustrating and when you get a free hour or 2 to do some gaming you expect the service to work.

I have to agree with Lethal here, although I can see BBK's point about it being a paid service and if your paying for it then it should work but lets be honest, it's not like it on a daily basis so I just can't see why people lose their heads over it so much but I guess that's just a different group of us!

Hell Destiny and Iron Banner itself have been ruining my afternoons just recently, rift is a stupid game choice for it as most of your team mates are busy killing other people than stopping the runner for igniting the rift, had to rage quit last night because I'd had enough of being on the loosing team all the time, was rank 4 as well but the hastle wasn't worth anymore of my time!

I still do not know any home TV/Broadband/Homephone providers that can equal VM. Even if you say your going to leave for elsewhere, they offer me prices I really cannot refuse.

No other broadband/phone/tv companies do this

I would go with them but it's impossible because Nynex never laid the cable here 20 years ago.

They were not always this good, it took them a few years to repair their bad rep especially among gamers. They often routed people via USA to connect to servers in London so they had a ping of 180-200 instead of about 30. Steam wouldn't connect, slow downloads. Restricted speed if went over your data cap poor customer service and sometimes flat out refused to acknowledge the problems even when professional network experts sent them their findings and that Virginia were at fault.

Same. Been with VM for years, that long my email is still NTL world lol

Currently my bill was around £85 a month (200MB B/B, largest tv package with sports and phone), I got a letter about a £2 increase so I called up to see if there was anything that could be done, they ended up reducing my bill by almost £30 for 9 months and halved the sports package for 12 months. I called up ready to go into battle and he just diffused the situation without me virtually saying anything all over a 2 quid increase

I can count on 1 hand the amount of times its gone down too so they've been fantastic IMO, and when it did go down it was intermittent for around a week due to upgrades at the exchange box, they credited my account with 2 months worth of B/B. Can't complain about them at all.
