Borderlands 4 Game Awards Reveal To Feature ‘A Lot Of In-Game Footage,’ Plus A Cinematic That Will Bridge Gap Between Borderlands 3 & 4

Gearbox chief Randy Pitchford has teased that we can expect “a lot of in-game footage” on Borderlands 4 during its appearance at The Game Awards later this week, including a cinematic that looks to bridge the gap between Borderlands 4 and the new title.

Borderlands 4 is one of the few games that we’ve got confirmed to appear at the Geoff Keighley-fronted event on Thursdays night (or Friday early morning if you’re in the UK like yours truly), and now PItchford has teased things a bit further on X:

Yes, there is GAME PLAY in the trailer! Also, in addition to a lot of in-game footage, I will share a sick, never-before-seen original cinematic sequence depicting a moment that occurs about half way between the end of Borderlands 3 and the beginning of Borderlands 4. “I AM EXCITE!”

Recently Gearbox arranged transport for a terminally ill fan to visit its headquarters to see an early version of Borderlands 4 in action. Caleb McAlphine revealed afterwards that the game is ‘amazing‘ and expressed their heartfelt thanks to Gearbox and the fans who brought his situation to the attention of the game’s development team.
