Now that CD Projekt RED has its first Cyberpunk game behind it, warts and all, the studio continues to balance its next major projects.
One of which, CDPR has now confirmed, is getting ready to head into full production – The Witcher 4. Or Project Polaris as it’s technically officially called for now.
During the studios most recent earnings call, it provided an update on the studio breakdown regarding how many developers are working on which projects.
The last time we got an update, there were just over 400 people working on Project Polaris. That number has mainly remained the same, as CDPR says “The Polaris team is maintaining the right scale to enter the production phase very soon, while our work on both announced and unannounced projects is steadily progressing.”
That it has yet to enter full production shows that we’ll still be waiting a while before we get a new CDPR game. Project Polaris is the studio’s top focus now, and with it not even in production yet, it’ll be some years before anything concrete is shown.
When it does arrive though, it’ll be interesting to see how CDPR deals with another highly-anticipated release.
