Taking to the official Cyberpunk 2077 website, the studio explained that there was a clear goal revamping the police system: punishing criminal activity, so runners are chased and cyberspsychos are flatlined. As such, Cyberpunk 2077’s UI will clearly indicate how much Heat you have on you for performing unlawful acts, with the maximum being five stars.
If you do happen to reach this level of Heat, the game will dispatch a surprise Max Tac mini-boss and various archetypes on the scene, while those who try and flee will be chased or stopped by roadblocks. The NCPD show no mercy, and won’t accept any bribes or even a surrender.
As a player, you will know when the police is not after you anymore. NPCs will leave the scene in a way that is natural and intuitive. You can lose them by running away from the crime scene on foot or driving away. Make sure to stay out of their sight!
Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 is arriving before the upcoming expansion Phantom Liberty, and will be available for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game. CDPR recently explained during a Q&A in its latest earnings call on Wednesday that Phantom Liberty is the only expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 due to its “technological decision” to shift to Unreal Engine 5.
