EA Lowers Revenue Forecast For Fiscal Year, Says EA Sports FC 25 And Dragon Age: The Veilguard “Underperformed”

EA has dropped its revenue forecast for its current fiscal year, putting the blame on what it says was “underperformance” from both EA Sports FC 25, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

During the company’s latest financial call with shareholders, chief executive officer Andrew Wilson and the rest of EA’s top brass tempered the forecast from its previous “mid-single-digit growth” to a “mid-single-digit decline,” pinning the blame on Veilguard and EA Sports FC 25.

Despite EA Sports FC 25 being the best-selling game in Europe for 2024, it was 5% behind the previous year’s entry. In regards to Dragon Age, according to EA, since launch the game has “engaged” 1.5 million players, which was half the number the publisher expected.

“During Q3, we continued to deliver high-quality games and experiences across our portfolio;” said Wilson, “however, Dragon Age and EA Sports FC 25 underperformed our net bookings expectations.”

Now, instead of EA expecting to end its fiscal year with net bookings somewhere between $7.5-7.8 billion, it instead expects to sit somewhere between $7-7.15 billion.
