Naoki Yoshida, producer on the upcoming Final Fantasy XVI, has said that PC users should “buy a PS5” in response to speculation that the game is coming to the PC.
Speaking during a recent mahjong stream, Yoshida-san noted that nothing was ever announced regarding a PC version of the game.
Nobody said a word about a PC version releasing. Why is it like a PC version is releasing 6 months later? Don’t worry about that, buy a PS5! (laughs) Sorry, I went overboard. We did our best so please look forward to it.
Final Fantasy XVI was announced for PS5 during a Sony showcase in late 2020, although a PC version was later believed to also be in the pipeline due to Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade also hitting PC.
Furthermore, a trailer for the Final Fantasy XVI released during The Game Awards 2022 revealed that the game will not be coming to “other platforms until December 31, 2023.”
