Naughty Dog bigwig Neil Druckmann has teased that the upcoming second season of HBO’s The Last of Us will include ‘at least one element’ from the Lost Levels featured in the upcoming The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered.
Speaking in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Druckmann said fans can expect The Last of Us Season 2 to doff its cap to some of the cut features from 2020’s post-apocalyptic sequel, although is understandably not giving anything specific away.
As a tease, I will say there is at least one element from a cut level that is planned [for] the show. I say that with the caveat that we haven’t started filming the show yet and all things are subject to change based on what we ultimately feel will be best for the show.
One of the features of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is the addition of the Lost Levels, which are in-development sections of the game that were cut from the final version. While they won’t be incorporated into the full game, players will still have the chance to sample them as an extra feature.
As reported yesterday, filming of The Last of Us Season 2 has been delayed from early January 2024 to February 20, due actor Pedro Pascal’s busy schedule. Meanwhile, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is scheduled for release on January 16, 2024.
