Bloober Team has offered an extensive look at one of the boss fights from Silent Hill 2 Remake to illustrate just how much it has changed from the original version released in 2001. The boss in question is the Flesh Lip, which take place in Brookhaven Hospital after James is tricked into being locked in a room with the creature by Laura.
Originally, the Flesh Lip boss fight was confined to a small room where James battled three of the creatures; two at first and a third enemy once the others had been defeated. This time however, the room is much larger and a single Flesh Lip attacks James, and has some new tricks up its grotesque sleeves, as it’s able to come down from the the ceiling.

Silent Hill 2 Remake follows the same narrative cues as the original game, and sees James Sunderland travelling to the foggy town after receiving a letter from his wife, Mary, who died three years ago. Upon arriving, James finds the town all but deserted, its inhabitants instead replaced by grotesque monsters.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is scheduled for release on October 8, 2024 for PS5 and PC. If you’re browsing around online reading about the game, then be careful as some people have received their copies early, so there will be spoilers out there.
