GSC Game World’s defining franchise, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. began as a classic franchise for PC players, before the series ever made its way to consoles.
On Wednesday, GSC Game World revealed through an Xbox Partner Preview event that for the first time every, the original three games that’ve been stuck on PC will be coming to consoles, including PlayStation consoles with a PS4 release. It’ll also of course be available on PS5 through backwards compatibility.
The S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends Of The Zone Trilogy is made up of the original three S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow Of Chernobyl, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call Of Pripyat.
Each game is available individually, and packaged as a bundle. You can grab each of them on the PlayStation Store for $19.99 USD each, or the bundle for $39.99 USD.
A press release regarding the trilogy also confirms that the games will include mod support, but that’ll be coming in an update down the line.
GSC Game World also says that it doesn’t have any updates on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, the game that the fans who’ve already played these original three games are waiting for.
Despite that GSC Game World is very excited to bring this original trilogy to consoles, and considers it a deeply important move for GSC Game World.
“S.T.A.L.K.E.R.’s legacy is now as important as ever. Usually, we say that about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, but bringing the originals to the new platforms and letting more people experience them ensures that the truly Ukrainian franchise will go on and will be loved. It’s very important for GSC to secure this.” said GSC Game World public relations specialist Zakhar Bocharov in an Xbox Wire interview.
