Xbox Will Host A Special Edition Podcast This Thursday To Address Rumours Of Xbox Titles Coming To PlayStation

The future arrives on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 12pm PT / 3pm Et / 8pm GMT, because that’s when the official Xbox Podcast will host a special edition show, with Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond and Matt Booty discussing their “vision for the future of Xbox.”

It’s at this podcast where we’re expected to finally get some answers to the questions that have been circling for over a week. Will Xbox exclusive games be coming to PlayStation consoles, and if so, which ones.

Microsoft has grown as a games publisher mainly through acquiring other studios that were already publishing games on all platforms. This has led to situations like Minecraft being owned by Xbox, but released on everything.

The newest, biggest example of this is now every Call Of Duty game for at least the next 10 years. But these rumours are calling out games that were originally believed to always be Xbox exclusives.

If we start to see Xbox release its biggest exclusive titles like Gears Of War, Starfield, Halo, Forza Horizon/Motorsport, Fable etc., then a new era for the industry is about to begin. If those games aren’t going anywhere, but a live service title like Sea Of Thieves or a smaller project like Hi-Fi Rush is coming to PlayStation, then that’s much less of an industry shake-up.

Whichever way Phil and the rest blow, we’ll find out Thursday, and hopefully we’ll have definitive answers to these questions.
