(UPDATED) RUMOR: Ninja Gaiden 2 cross platform?

The latest edition of EGM Magazine has hit the streets and scans have been circulating the internet that show Ninja Gaiden II, a supposed Xbox 360 exclusive, will be a cross platform title available for the Playstation 3.
Ninja Gaiden 2 is the long awaited sequel to Ninja Gaiden, which pits Ryu Hayabusa on the mission to avenge his clan and save the world. It is being developed by Team Ninja and published by Microsoft and Tecmo.

While this is in no way confirmation of the newest Ninja Gaiden title hitting the PS3, it does open the possibility. Be sure to check back for any updates as they become available.
UPDATE:
An EGM editor has since issued a statement on website NeoGAF confirming that the 'PS3' listing was an error; the game is not coming to PS3 as far as the publication is aware of.
""this was just a mistake on our end (damn those late-night deadlines!). NG2--as far as I know--is only coming to the 360"

How would this be possible, isnt it being published by Microsoft, unless Microsoft realized that the PS3 was a better console. LOL. Its either a typo or Team Ninja wanted it to be a multi-plat because of the success of Sigma on the PS3 and dropped microsoft as the publisher and got Tecmo to do it. Which would be pretty cool.

It's no more multiplatform than the first was when it was announced. Itagaki Does NOT like the PS3, He's said it numerous times. The only way Sigma ever got to the PS3 is because they found someone else to oversee the project. If they have the same guy come back to work on it then maybe but that assumes they liked the sales of sigma on PS3 enough to want to spend the money on developing the second for PS3 as well.

Irregardlessly I don't care for this game. But good news to those that care. The last thing I want PS3 Owners to do is, should this be true, is to stick it in Xbots cause that makes us look bad.

I responded:When someone says "...with as much respect as I can muster..." they are offering you anything but respect. What it really means is "I have no respect for you." It is a fairly proven fact when your next sentence asks me if I am an idiot.
Microsoft is publishing the game on the 360. That is true. What about other platforms? I don't mean to call YOU an idiot but let's pose a question. Has any game in the history of gaming ever had more than one publisher for different platforms? Has that ever happened in the history of the human race?
How about Jade Empire?
Xbox Publisher - Microsoft.
PC Pubisher - Take 2 (2K).
And that was a well made and prominent Xbox title.
Some people are also the master of assumptions around here. I was not saying that NG2 was positively coming to the PS3 though it is interesting. It may or may not be indicative of anything other than a print error and a copy editor's incompetence. I do find it a little bit of a comeuppance and a slap in the face when Dan Hsu is bawling over being cut off by certain publishers yet the next issue page of his company's publication can't manage to correctly state a title's platform(s). Especially when said title is of such a high profile nature.
The last time I checked, Microsoft was the Xbox360 publisher but Ninja Gaiden 2 is a Tecmo game made by Team Ninja, not a Microsoft game. Otherwise, Ninja Gaiden Sigma would be a Microsoft game on a Sony platform. Some sites such as IGN are listing NG2 with dual publishers - MS and Tecmo.
You are quite correct, the stupid around here is stupefying. Especially so after a little fact checking. -

I wasn't impressed with Sigma and NGII looks like more of the same. 360 fans can keep this one. There's so much more coming out for the PS3 this year that this game is so far off my radar that I'm not even interested.

Gaiden was an exclusive for a while, but it eventually came to Sony. Don't see why this wouldn't. I loved Sigma.

oh i think i see wat will happen here, everybody (exept the smart people) will get all hyped up then the comapny who makes it will come out and tell us that this rumour is rubbish, and ten we'll have all the xbots laughing in our faces, unless it gets properly confirmed might aswell not bother on this one people.

This is not a problem for me. MAYBE, after it is released on 360, then they will announce one for the PS3 coming sometime later. But with a different publisher ofcourse!

Whats going on with the ps3 because news from n4gamers says HAZE is delayed again thats sad i was looking forward to that game how many more delays i hope ninja garden won't be next.
