The largest video game publisher in the world is no longer Electronic Arts.
In its place is the amalgamation of Activision and Vivendi Games, Activision Blizzard. Stunned gamers around the world wonder what this USD 18.9 billion deal will mean to the industry.
On their new site, the new company had this to say:
"The combination of Activision and Vivendi Games, Activision Blizzard, will create the world's largest, most profitable pure-play video game publisher with some of the most popular titles in the industry, including Guitar Hero, Call of Duty, Tony Hawk, World of Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo."
Check back soon for more details on the merge, and what it means to both companies franchises in the coming weeks.

I just hope it will not become another EA in regards of games' quality...
Diablo? ... Ancient history there
If they emerge is as good as Square and Enix congrats for them.
its alright as long as they come out w/ good ports/games on the ps3
psn id J08hawks
good for everyone didnt think blizzard was part of bigger company
Guitar Hero, Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Tony Hawk...some of the most popular games out there are all under the same umbrella...and a company that seems to know how to handle the PS3. Nice.
psn id: gingo... this is great ofr ps3 because these publishers know how to handle the ps3 hardware but i dont tihnk it will make that much difference to the industry on a whole
Am I the only person going holy shyt in their head? Blizzard IS HUGE TYCOON on the pc. Maybe this could mean that there rts or mmorpg games could release on a console like the ps3. Also Activision is a good company in my book so I know that they will continue to make even better titles with the resources from the other 2 companies.
This is great news! Anyone that topples EA is a friend of mine. We need another sports publisher!!!
Oo HElI YESS!!! This is amazing news for PS3 owners! Activision puts the PS3 top priority, and now we'll just have more top quality games!!!
wow thats awesome! i guess we are finally gonna get some good games, YAY!!
Who cares as far as I'm concerned right now Activision games aren't at the top of my list. EA is better to be honest I enjoy most games from EA more than Activision and Vivendi (Aisde from COD4, F.E.A.R. and other such great titles)
