Analysts show favor to Sony

After seeing a bump launch last November, and receiving many harsh comments from industry analyst and insiders, the PlayStation 3 has taken the first step into turning things around and becoming a dominant force in this generations console battle.
After much pessimism, many analysts are now showing some favor to Sony as recent events such as the Dubai investment and PS3 price cut has lifted consumer and industry confidence into the Sony camp.
"Going forward another 12 months or so I'm sure we'll see better titles turning up as well. I wouldn't say Sony's back on form and everything is going to be OK now but it feels like the proper launch [for the PS3] this year." says Kiroshi Kamide of KBC Securities. Furthermore Kamide said that Sony is "making up lost ground."
On the other hand, David Gibson of Macquarie Security mentioned, "It's certainly a sign that the momentum of the PS3 business is improving.
"The PS3 and the games business is past the worst in terms of financial losses and the sales momentum is improving because of the price cut and the new model."
This all comes as great news to Sony and their fans because the company has been the source of a lot of negativity starting back with launch of the PS3 and its heavy price point. This momentum of Sony and the PS3 is expected to carry over into 2008 as the heavy hitter titles such as Metal Gear Solid 4 release.

Analysts are so fickle... somedays they are saying the PS3 is the greatest peice of hardware, other days they say that the PS3 will fall, giving rise to the Xbox 360. It's like, look at the games, the hardware, the price, etc and make up your mind. If I was an investor I would be weary of analysts who switch back and forth.

psn id: gingo... yeah i agree with NoUseMercenary aswell but the analysts saying this feels like the proper ps3 launch is a bit foolish because most consoles in their first year dont do so great (except wii) and start to pick up sales once more titles come out this was the same for the 360 aswell

SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST PLAIN DUMB. IT REALLY WAS THE PRICE TAG OF $600 THAT MANY WERE TURNED OFF FROM BUYING THE CONSOLE. IF YOU OWNED A PS1(200MIL) AND A PS2(200 +MIL) WHY WOULD YOU NOT TRUST SONY AND BUY A PS3. HALO IS NOT MUCH TO THROW AWAY SONY.
I REALLY HOPE THAT NEXT YEAR THE PRICE OF HDtvs DROP SIGNIFICANTLY. SO MORE GAMERS CAN REALLY ENJOY THE BEAUTY OF THE GAMES AND THE GREAT QUALITY OF THE BLU-RAY DVDS. 1080P REALLY MAKES MORE SENSE TO SAVE AND BUY. YOU NOT ONLY GET 2 + MIL MORE RESOULUTIONS MORE THAN 1080i BUT YOUR MONEYS WORTH WHEN YOU WATCH BLU-RAY MOVIES. I THINK NEXT YEAR SONY IS GOING TO MAKE OR HAVE MOST OF THEIR GAMES IN 1080P.

I always belived in Sony and I doesnt listen to analysts that only talks crap. I preferd to analyse the situation myself, and I ended up buying a PS3 on the release day. Macquarie Security and all other fu*kheads can suck my d**k. "This all comes as great news to Sony and their fans because the company has been the source of a lot of negativity starting back with launch of the PS3" Whel thats maybe why the PS3 had such a hard time from the beginning, your idiots! Now they just change ther minds because they se its going to well for the PS3 for them to continue with their crap.

The only way was ever going to be up from where Sony was. But I don't think the first year was that bad for sony considering the high price it was at, and that teh first year matched the 360's first year and Sony say its where PS2 was at in its first year.
Every consoles first year doesn't do to well and it does include the Wii as it has only 2 games for it.
