Another collection of PlayStation 2 games getting the HD treatment

Another collection of games from the PlayStation 2 days are getting a face lift. The Splinter Cell Trilogy is heading to the PlayStation 3 in 2011, Ubisoft confirmed with IGN.

Will the collection include 3D, Move support, or zombie-raptors? Probably no undead dinosaurs, but we do know that the trilogy bundle is getting the HD treatment. The Blu-ray disc will include the following PlayStation 2 games: Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.

An HD version of a PS2 game is nothing new. You can also find the God of War Collection, which gives the HD makeover to God of War and God of War II, along with Sly Collection, which combined three Sly Cooper games onto one disc in HD, with 3D support.

Ubisoft has also released an HD upgrade to three Prince of Persia games in a 3D edition for the PS3. No official word on whether Splinter Cell Trilogy will get 3D, but it wouldn’t come as a shock.
