Rising Star Games announced today that it would be bringing hardcore Role Playing Game (RPG) Baroque to Europe on June 27, 2008.

Baroque takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where players must conquer numerous dungeons in an effort to procure powerful items in an effort to get to the bottom of the cataclysm that has befallen the landscape.

Contrary to typical videogame law, Baroque allows gamers to progress the storyline further if the player’s character should perish in battle. The game has enjoyed significant commercial success in its native Japan, and made its US debut earlier this month.

Baroque will be released on PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii.

It sounds good, we need more RPG games for the PS3. Post-Apocalypse for the win!

We need to resurrect the point'n'click adventure seeing as most developers are leaning towards story driven games, starting with realMyst

Sounds sorta interesting, but after playing FF7 CC it feels weird playing anything else RPG wise for a while.

If I recall it's based off a game with the same name for the Sega Saturn, though I heard that was pretty terrible.

This one is sposed to be pretty good though yet to try it yet, since Atlus are backing it if I recall and it's more of a hardcore feel I'd imagine it to have a more SMT style to it.
