Ben Heck is at it again...PS360 controller mod

Ever flirted with the idea of Microsoft and Sony conjuring up a Frankenstein control pad? Although the idea is incredibly far fetched, Ben Heck has taken it upon himself to whip up an impressive controller mod of his own, giving us an idea of what a possible hybrid pad may look like.
Whether this controller works with the PlayStation 3 or 360 (or both) is unknown yet, however, with a PS button in the middle, we assume that the ‘accessory’ is PS3-orientated.
It's no secret that a vast majority of the gaming public prefer the 360's analog placement to that on our beloved DualShock. Combining that analog placement with Sony's superior D-PAD isn't exactly too bad of an idea.

what a craphole idea. I absolutely loath the 360's tiny joysticks that have such limited range of movement - absolutely attrocious for racing games. The controller's face buttons are too close together, you find yourself trying to press one and you press at least one other one due to their overprotrusion. Once your hands become so deformed that you actually can't use any other controller other than the 360's you can see why 360 fanboys would want it.

You guys are funny. This is the first time Ben has modded these two items together using the DualShock 3. This isn't "old." His OTHER Controller mod has been shown before, this is the first time he's displayed THIS model utilizing newer parts.

i hate the placement of the 3360 analogs that is what prevented me from ever getting an xbox and now that i know what M$ does i am glad i didnt. pretty neat though

The Dual Shock is far from perfect. And consider that there is a 50/50 split as ti which is superior. This is great for Sony since it could attract 360 gamers who don't like the DS over to the PlayStation brand. The only catch is that you have to build it yourself.

360 controller just looks like a bulky piece of trash, there's no style in it period.
if i had to pick up a controller of that size everyday just to play the games I love I'd cry everytimeas for the "pretend to be different layout" of the analogue stick is rubbish, simply put, i can cope with a lower position of analogue stick (like ps3 does) but not a lower D-pad position like 360 places it, rendering it useless to me most of the time.
it's just another M$ way of saying we aren't copying, we are inventive, pricks! -

i actually prefer the ps3 controllers sticks and how i can grip the controller, but the 360 controller isn't horrible by any means

I hope this never happens because that analogue stick on the xbox is the worst place you can out it and I don't have deformed thumbs to use it.

I'd buy one of those lol, I could toss it at my 360 loving friends when they whined that the PS3 controller "sucks." (I don't believe in hitting my friends, so no I won't hit them, though I do use my brother as a punching bag when I'm angry :) )

I, like many, Hate the 360 controller and it's recent counterparts. Why anyone would want this controller is beyond me. I'm not sure what vast majority the editor is talking about but judging from the posts perhaps the vast majority of 360 players prefer the 360's analog placement??? That aside, ben heck does incredible mods, and as someone who works with many different kinds of controllers, not video game ones, it is astounding to see everything that he can mod up. Good job Ben.

LUL most of the gaming public DO NOT prefer the 360's analog placement. You must play too many shooters, Dave, because that's the only time I've ever even heard of the 360's analog placement ever being preferred.
And that's not even by the majority, that's a lot of people in America.
