Post-apocalyptic RPG Fallout 3 has been censored for its impending release in Japanese territories, reports Kotaku.

The website claims that Bethesda’s latest epic has received a number of cuts, most notably in the side quest The Power of the Atom. According to reports, the NPC Mr. Burke has been completely removed from the quest, eliminating the option of detonating the nuclear weapon.

Furthermore, the name of the device has been changed, as its original title was deemed “inappropriate” for the Japanese market. It is currently unknown if any other edits have been made.

Fallout 3 is due out in Japan next month.

Geez, Japan are almost as bad as Germany..  Just because the majority of the population are anorexic twigs, doesn't mean the word 'Fat Man' is OMG CENSOR IT!  and I guess the Nuke thing is a bit obvious..  They should really get over themselves.  I mean, would we say to cut out all things Nazi from WW2 games?  Rediculous..

Fat Man was removed because that was the name of one of the atomic bombs that was droped on japan, that i can understand, its an incredably traumatic thing for them. But removing the detonate megaton quest thats just not right.

If that's what it takes for the Japanese to be able to play this game, so be it.

Geez, you people are not very sensitive at all.  I think these cuts are understandable, but you can still play it.

You guys are making light of a very serious situation..I mean think about it a nuke dropped on the place and it took decades for them to rebuild..many people suffered...I mean how would you feel if they made a game where you had the chance to fly two planes in two major buildings in a huge city? not funny right..its not like the cuts are unnessary its something that many people dont like being reminded of and some are infact still hurting that the  bomb dropping actually happened
