Bionic Commando Rearmed sells 130k in first week

Capcom’s Ben Judd has confirmed the sale of over 130,000 copies of Bionic Commando Rearmed in the first week alone, setting a new benchmark for downloadable titles.

“That may not seem impressive compared to package titles that sell in the millions but compared to other digital titles that is a friggin juggernaut,” Judd stated.

“Basically, we have set a standard in digital gaming. The bar has been raised and you have let developers around the world know that if they invest the time, money, and heart into making (and remaking) some great games, you will support that initiative.”

Good news indeed, though Judd failed to mention any specific breakdown of sales per platform. Early reports put the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions roughly on a par, with the PC iteration as an unknown quantity. Hopefully we'll get a breakdown of the figures soon.

Whichever platform you choose though, it's a fantastic remake of a classic original. Recommended.

    Get Insomniac and Naugthy Dog to remake Spyro and Crash respectivley and you will see the bar at least triple ;P

    OMG, people actually brought this game, to my opionon i thought it was rubbish didn't like of the gameplay. Sony better come out with better ideas.

    meh...hated the original and while the remake was exceptionally good looking, the gameplay mechanics hadn't been changed (obviously) so it was a no-go area for me...

     

    C'est la vie, i'll keep my hopes alive for a remake or re-release of FFVII and VIII

    psn id: gingo.... i think it is an excellent game but i agree with Triple Dk, if insomniac remade Spyro 1, 2 and 3 and naughty dog remade crash 1, 2, 3 and crash team racing the downloads would explode

    I bet those figures included all sales-PS3, X360 and PC version (if there is a PC version). And yeah I would love for Naughty Dog to remake Crash Team Racing and also make it online so we could all go head to head!!!

    @Odium. I must be old to. Because I cant see why Crash and Spyro would sell that great. But anyway. bionic Commando: Rearmed is the best arcade game on psn. This game has a story mode, plus offline multiplayer, plus 50+ challenge rooms in the main menu. All that for only 9.99 usd.
