COD4 feature patch nearly ready

The most popular game on the PlayStation Network, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, is set to receive its next patch in the near future. The Community Relations Manager over at Infinity Ward gave us the lowdown on their official forums.
"Just wanted to you guys to know what's happening on the PS3 side not just the 360.
"The Xbox 360 feature patch got through test a bit faster than the PS3 one, so it was sent off to Microsoft for certification today, but I wanted to let you know the PS3 feature patch isn't far behind in terms of going to Sony."
He noted some of the features that are set to make an appearance in this latest update.
"Some good news is that the patch will include among the other things, a new quick mute option so you can easily mute players as quickly as you can call in an airstrike, by pulling up the scoreboard and choosing the player you want to mute whether in-game or in-lobby.
"As well as the Recently Met Players, and all other features (New Kill Cams, Improved Sniper Accuracy, etc.)"
We're eagerly awaiting this newest patch, as is the entire Call of Duty community. The patch should be available soon on a PlayStation 3 near you.

Finally perhaps this will give me reason to pick up my controller again. I swear i am a ruined man until MGS4 comes out.

old news for me, but really looking forward to this patch, i swear there was this one user (sumin like cypher, i cant really remember) and all that was coming through from his mic was loud static and irritating high pitch noises!!!

mute system will be sweet when you have some players communication only passes you high static from thier mic

@ionixx, i'm not going to compare to warhawk because i havn't tried it yet but i will tell why i LOVE cod4. I'm not a big fan of online play with games but with cod4 i get hooked each time i start, you get to participate in intense town battles filled with rushes of adrenalin, you have grenades going off, bullets going through wall's, your never really in security in this game. For me ther's a good choose of weapon's so you get to fight against sniper's, heathy artillery, assault rifles or even thoes with shotguns. Each time my friend's come to my place we play online with cod4 and each time i hear the same thing " i have to get myself a ps3 for this game"

Theres a lot of dum-ass players that do that Hesmanes. I think the only reason they play this kind of noise and music though their Mic's is specifically to irritate other players so they have a better chance of winning. You usually find they are quite poor opponents and this is the only way they can try and increase their odds of doing better. Very Sad!...Thank god we now mute them out!

@ IONIXX - You can't really compare COD4 and Warhawk. COD4 is a FPS with a big emphasis on ranking up to unlock weapons which you can use to make custom classes of soldiers. The combat is soldier based. Warhawk is a 3rd person shooter that focus on all out war i.e aircraft, vehicles and insane ground combat. I own both and love them. I do have to admit I mainly play COD4 online, but when buddies come over we hope on Warhawk for the split screen online play. Something COD4 doesn't offer. (and no I'm not talking about LAN)

finally i hate hearing people talk racist crap through cheap headsets with the distortion on full.
and hearing every thing the guy does four times and it echo's around from his tv to his mic to his tv to his mic....

@ xdeth & princevegeta1980 - ah i see, well, im not a "real" big fan of fps's, i like to be ale to see al around myself ( or character rather) but everyones different, i just like warhawk cuz u have so much freedom, (take a tank plane jeep dropship to go wherever) but thanks to both of you for shedding some light on it for me :) i oh and btw @princevegeta1980 - warhawk is insane aswell, absolute chaos! thats another reosen i love it.

this update should already be out, i dont knwo why it is taking them so long, at ionixx i love warhawk, i switch between cod4 and warhawk especially when cod4 pisses me off. i like cod4 because it is really fast paced and it a lot of run and gun. i also like to complete challenges which cod4 has.

The Mute will be awsome. Just a couple of days ago I had to put up with these 8 year olds that were singing all the TIME! They would not shut up! But now I can mute them LOL! By the way...

PSN ID^^^ I LOVE this game online soo much, glad they are making a patch... but mute? i think for hosts a quick boot option so if someone teamkills they can kick them right then and there instead of waiting for the server... that would be MUCH better in my opinion....

Another FPS I didn't pick up. I'm tired of having campaigns just become long tutorials for online play. I want a Killzone-esque campaign. I hate trying to play online and accomplish nothing more than feeding grass my blood.
