Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has confirmed that "an all-new Call of Duty" will be released in the 2009 calendar year.
With Treyarch currently developing Call of Duty: World at War for 2008, we can safely assume that next year’s Call of Duty will be from the prestigious Infinity Ward. The way Kotick put it is that the new Call of Duty will be released "utilizing our leapfrog studio strategy."
It will be interesting to see if the studio utilizes the Call of Duty 4 engine or builds a new one from the ground up. Hopefully the latter is the case. Regardless, we can’t wait to see what Infinity Ward can do to top Call of Duty 4.
