Capcom begins PS3 announcement countdown

According to Capcom Unity, an official Capcom blogsite, a new announcement will be made this week for PlayStation 3 owners that will have them screaming for joy.
Located on the main flash console, Capcom Unity has a countdown displaying the Earth in orbit with the title "Prepare Yourself". At the time of writing the countdown is at 2 Days, 18 hours and 58 mins.

The hype... this sort of puffed up coundown stuff usually ends with a second rate announcement once all the air has escaped. If the news was really anything strong it would stand out on its own and would not need a stupid teaser.
Oooh prepare yourself in 3 days, 6 hours, 57 minutes, 2 seconds , 33 milliseconds and 4 nanoseconds we are going to tell you about a hyped up game we might release sometime 2 or 3 years from now...

What ever it is, unless its deliverable in 3 days - I wont take too much stock in what ever they say. Promises promises... when it comes time to deliver they say...oh sorry, we changed our minds...

If it's not a new Dino Crisis, Onimusha, or a new IP I can give a damn about, well, then they're still in the hole for me. If it's a port of Lost Planet, they're still in the hole (going by the background pic) as I haven't given a damn for their latest 2 IPs (Lost Planet and Dead Rising).
In general, what they announce *WILL* have to be *EXCLUSIVE* AND *STAY EXCLUSIVE* for me to even give it thought.

do u all really think that they'd have this huge world countdown thing just 4 one game? i think this is somthing much bigger, and if not.......then its a pretty extensive way 2 get us exited....in other words- a big countdown for a stupid announcement.

This is just me but if they really want to make it up to PS3 gamers they should do this: make their entire back catalog of 2D and 3D games that was released on the NES to the PS2 available for download on the PSN to be played on the PS3 and PSP, create new IPs that actually take advantage of the PS3 hardware, and don't LIE about being a multiplatform developer if they're not going to release their Xbox 360 exclusives on the PS3 because we all knnow the PS3 is more powerful than any of its competitors.

Neither Dead Rising or Lost Planet will be exclusive forever. At a certain point the rights revert back to capcom who can do what ever they want with the game, That's how they make their contracts, with the ability to step out of them at somepoint if they arnt working for them. I think they learned that lesson after dealing with Nintendo back in the 8bit days.
Chances are it's either news that the exclusivity is over and we're getting LP and DR or a new IP altogether because they havent created anything new in a while aside from these games and they need them to grow as franchaises in order to make more money (they even talked recently about how happy they are to see these two games continue to expand and they werent talking about doing it only on the assbox). Capcom dosent even make Street Fighter games anymore, Even Puzzle fighter HD remix was contracted out to american devs so they wouldn't have anything to do with it. With all the other japanese companies around them planning new products and expanding their line up it'd be a good idea for them to create somthing new or they wont grown financially this year at all.
They wouldnt make announcment to say they're dropping the development on another system.

Truly I could care less now. After they screwed up with Devil May Cry 4 and Monster Hunter 3, what could they possibly do to make up for that? I my opinion...NOTHING!

I think capcom isnt in any position to hype us up for anything, because what ever it is im sure wont be that big of a deal. Unless they release like a marvel vs capcom game exlcusive for ps3 THEN I JUMP OUT MY PANTS AND FIND A CAPCOM DEV TO KISS. But anyways unless something that good is being released fyck capcom and their greedy assses. We come out with new system and they so fast to drop the system that made them where they are.
PS- I didnt see anywhere on the site it had something to do with ps3 specifically or ps3 at all. So this is a bigger reason to not get any hopes up for it being A: a dumb announcement or B: Maybe an ok announcement but still nothing to have us screaming like they said and at then of this stupid announcemnt i kno capcom going to be like ow maybe this wasnt such a great idea.

Well what ever it is i hope it's ps3 exclusive. Maybe capcom has finally relalized that making games for the ps3 isnt has hard as they think, and you can get more out of it then the 360. If they were to make devil may cry 4 for 360 also, why not make lost planet a dead rising, for ps3.

How the **** do yall know it's a PS3 thing, anyways? I went to that blog and didn't see a thing about PS3. Just, prepare yourself.
Anyways, I doubt Capcom would say what they did in the forums earlier this week and now this and it not be something pretty massive. So yes, I'm getting my hopes up, if it turns out to be a blowout then I'm pissed, probably never support Capcom again, but I don't want any ports, I want a new exclusive, and it better be pretty big. But if it is big like it's looking, I'll re-fall in love with Capcom and all will be good.

Read the article, it says on Capcom unity that its an announcement for ps3. Also over at the capcom official forums the sr. director of strtegy and marketing said 'Lets see how they feel about us in a week', directed at ps3 owners.
Of course, personally i think its really just bull. Either their going to mess us up and say, oops, did we say it was going to be good? sorry but actually we're pulling out all development for ps3...or else it'll be a completely crappy announcement like, i donno...MH3'es coming out for PS3 again...only now it'll be a port of the Wii version...or some such crap.

Didn't they hold a poll a while ago about on what console the new Megaman game should be released.....the PS3 was the most selected system I think.
Anyway, Could be something great....but with all the, so they say ''big announcements'' lately, only a handfull are worth the hype.
