Capcom hints at PS3 version of Lost Planet 2

During Capcom's Captivate 09 press event, producer Jun Takeuchi stated that Lost Planet 2 could eventually come to the PlayStation 3.
"We are concentrating right now on the 360 version of this game," Takeuchi said. "However, we would not say that the possibility of a PlayStation 3 version of the game is zero, we are just very busy developing the 360 version right now."
It would be surprising if Lost Planet 2 never made an appearance on the PS3, as the first Lost Planet was later ported after a year of exclusivity on the Xbox 360.
Lost Planet 2 will feature overhauled graphics, four-player co-op, bigger bosses, and 16-player competitive multiplayer.

why on earth.... is capcom, a japanese-based company, developing only for the 360 on a game that would actually have mass-appeal in Japan?
Multiplatform, I understand, but seriously? 360 only right now?
I mean, I never beat the first one because it just lost its appeal so it's no skin off my back, but still, what is capcom thinking?

Microsoft has even crappier first-party development now so they need to carry on paying third-parties for timed exclusives. The more sales Capcom's losing out on, the more Microsoft's having to pay.

Capcom seems like it's failing business wise. Only game that they deliever that's consider good is RE5 and SF4. But using such big title I'm still not satisfies by their sale number.
and now they're going for ONLY Xbox360. What are they thinking? it's a Japanese founded company so first they should aim at their homeland people; and does their homeland people own a lot of xbox360? NO.
even outside EXCEPT USA not even NA just USA is the place where there are more 360 owners than PS3 owners so ... I just don't understand... just make it multi not some year after crap when everything is outdated and trying to sell it at full price that's just BS.

Come on guys, microsoft has to show something at E3 probably lol, probably buying up a few multiplats so they have something to show with rest sequels like fable 3. Personally i think any company that says there multiplat but only release games for one console are retarded and are doing it purely for a big fat cheque, Yes Wada im looking at you to. My solution is, if you want to be big in the west, shutdown offices in japan, move to the west, and make a fps. Otherwise wake up and realise your heritage and go back to making quality games.

Multiplatform, or not. I don't see most of PlayStation 3 fanbase concerned over the Lost Planet franchise.
I for one, aren't. Because I have more interesting games to play. Be it exclusive to the system, or multiplatform.

seriously... we, as consumers and ps3-owners, should show that this strategy isn't going to work.
with the support they get from SFIV and RE5 on the PS3 side... we should all just not buy this PS3-port a year later and show them the difference of simultaneous release and releases that they sold out for timed exclusive.

PS3 will propably get it a year later if at all and it will most likely be an inferior port like the first one was. I'm glad I own both systems since I'll definitley be buying this for 360 the day it comes out.

I dont think people should dismiss this game based on the first one. Yes the port was bad but Capcom have since produced awsome titles for ps3 now such as resi evil 5 so will know how to do a better job second time round. Also we have no 4 player online co-op games which this game will be so even if it is a little late it will still be worth it. halo 3 and COD 4 is 2 years old and still played so if the online is awsome who cares if we have to wait a little. Unlike Xbox who have left 4 dead, gears of war, i really want a 4 player co-op shooter and as resi evil was so good this looks to be better graphically and more playable than the first Lost Planet. As i recall the online was still really good fun so i think this will be better than people are giving it credit. We have loads of exclusives to play until this comes out so dont mind the delay so i can catch up.

Nobody wanted the first one on PS3 and it'll be the same with this one.
I'm sure this is a deja vu article ... are PSU struggling to find industry news?
I hate the constant raft of games that are supposed to have mass appeal but just aren't cutting the mustard. There are too many iffy ports on the market as it is ... let's throw another blu-ray case on the fire shall we?

Man, far has Capcom fallen from the tree that it originally grew from. What the he//? They used to develop games exclusively for the PS2 back in the day. And, now they said that they were going to make games on all systems because it would be better for them that way. Hence RE5. But now, they\\\'re saying MAYBE or EVENTUALLY for the PS3 for Lost Planet 2? What load of BS is that? Why would they betray Sony like that and shoot themselves in the foot? Are they that stuck up and full of themselves now? I\\\'ll be deeply disappointed in Capcom if they backstab Sony like that. I really hate these stupid sensors on PSU. What is this, kindergarten?

Honestly, first one wasn't too fun. Played it on a friend's 360 and wasn't too impressed. Then played the demo when it was released for ps3 and it was wayyyyy too buggy for my taste.

It would be surprising if Lost Planet 2 never made an appearance on the PS3, as the first Lost Planet was later ported after a year of exclusivity on the Xbox 360.
Especially surprising after DMC 4 and RE5 were identical on both platforms. So what seems to be the problem with Lost Planet 2? Why the delay?

i don't think thats ever gonna happen. capcom saw that the first one was a failure on the ps3 and maybe they thought why make another failure...if they can make both versions identical and launch them at the same time, yeah that'll be great. but this gen's capcom proved that they r 360 fanboys, even though both consoles r almost identical- i have both so i know.

Every Crapcom game this gen has sucked donkey balls. RE5, SFIV, Lost Planet, all were crap. SFIV is the same boring game it was 20 years ago, RE5 has some of the worst controls I have ever seen....oh wait, never mind Lost planets controls sucked worse by a little.

This game could be a good one but not if its old news 1 yr. later on the PS3! What bugs me is the Capcom claim that all games will be multiplatform from now on. What happened to that? Why do these companies keep M$ alive when they make a faulty product! Owell I guess I'll be buying inFamous and Drake 2 and GOW3 etc. etc. so I won't miss out any.

I just wish we could get enough people together to get capcoms attention. Just so we can tell them not to bother, and that nothing they produce will ever live up to Sony's stellar first party offerings. "It's ok, capcom. Keep your exclusive money: you'll need it for the rainy day coming when PS3 owners have finally had enough of you."
Let's see how long ms checks can keep them afloat, shall we?

Funny how when it comes to a 360 "exclusive"(Dead Rising, and this) they don't seem to budge much on jumping multiplatform, but when it was Devil May Cry they had to get the 360 version out the same day. :/

nothing to worry about indeed. the first one was lame... and how the heck do you make fighting mechs lame. I dont know but they did it. also MS money made this happen no doubt. we can do without it.. hey maybe this is their way of sticking it to ms. we can hope.
