Capcom says PS3 not capable of online beta

With the recent release of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix beta program on the X360 marketplace, Sony fans were a little disappointed to learn they wouldn't be treated to an online beta of their own.
Obviously, it would only make sense for Capcom to release an online beta for both consoles resulting in a much larger testing group. The reason for this is simple; Capcom says that an online beta program isn't possible on the PlayStation 3 console.
"As for not having a beta program on PSN, it has already been stated that this is due to a technical issue with Sony. As in, they don't support such a program yet,” said Seth Killian, a Senior Manager for the Capcom community.
That is where things get a little shaky. Didn't Guerilla Games say they were hoping to create an online beta for its Killzone fans sometime this year? How do they plan on achieving this if what Capcom says is true and impossible?
According to another member of the Capcom family, "...even if it were possible for Sony to do, it would require 3 submissions (US, Europe, Asia/Japan) to reach the same global audience we can with MS in a single test and global submission."
We understand that lately a lot of PlayStation fans have been under the assumption that Capcom has just stopped caring as much about the Sony fanbase and have decided to focus more on Microsoft. Things like this definitely help strengthen that case even if it may not be true.
With Capcom removing Sony exclusives such as Devil May Cry 4 and bringing it to other platforms, one can only assume they were trying to start a brand equality opposed to brand loyalty; however, that isn't so clear now.
As more information is revealed around the issue regarding open online betas, we'll keep you informed. We're sure Sony would like to address the problem and if not, that's a shame for a lot of gamers.

screw capcom, they obviously arent thinking of the future. They are a giant piece of junk who has no idea what they are doing. They can keep their xbox, but where will they be in 5 months when 360 fails?

Okay its a beta for petes sake not even a freaking demo. If you acutally paid attention to the interivew they had Seth Killian (who has been part of the fighing game community for as long as I can remember) has said they lack more so the resources and time to do it for both. They chose the one that seem plausible for the time being but its still being released for both >_>. That doesn't mean they won't get testers to actually mess with the games. I swear PSU has nothing but cry babies on here and riding the "I hate Crapcom" ideology train. You get the game because its good, not because of some company logistics.

uncool a beta is basically a demo of a game to come in the future therefore it shouldnt be a problem to have the beta if we already have betas out , just think about it for a minute than get back to me about it

Uncool: You do have a point but think of it this way. Why would you release the Street Fighter HD beta (a classic game with a world wide following) on a console that only has a market in the US?? SF was born in Japan so don't you think they should use there resources on the console with a WORLD WIDE appeal???
Besides that, dosen't XBL have a download size limit? How did they get around that I wonder? I'm a gamer so Ill play any good game no matter what its on(but I am a Sony whore, I will admit..lol). You have to admit that it would make more sense to release the beta on the PS3 (and even the Wii since SF@ debuted on the SNES).
I have to say the Capcom is acting very suspicious lately...

Uncool, I am not sure what you read but it seems to as if capcom rep is saying more than "we don't have the resources". How can sony not have a beta program instituted when warhawk was in beta and home is still currently in beta.
Its the way things have been worded that irk me. And nothing irks me more when a person or company says something then does the other thing. If capcom came out and said we will not focus on the PS3 from now on then I will get miffed but forgive them for it. They would have their reasons. But to say that they are going to support these systems equally then turn around and stick it to the PS3 fans is just unrespectable.

They should make a down syndrome version of SFII to meet there new audience if they keep alienating consoles.

Its pretty obvious, -and already been stated by many- that the real reason is Capcom not being bothered to asked all 3 Sony departements... All a beta is is just a early demo that asks people for feedback, saying the PS3 cant do this is like saying demos arnt possible either.

I don’t understand what all these publishers have to gain from publicly pissing on PS3. If Capcom, EA, Ubisoft, and Valve are going to consistently cancel PS3 releases, or produce crap ports, weak PS3 versions with less content or bad frame rates – all they will achieve is PS3 owners hating them.
