Music is a powerful medium. Capable of stirring up long-forgotten memories and evoking powerful emotion in the listener, music can reduce even the burliest of blokes into blubbering, crumpled heaps. And who says that us guys are afraid to show their sensitive side? Poppycock. Of course, video games are no exception to this rule, and as often is the case, a stellar soundtrack can greatly accentuate the on-screen antics, elevating even the most perfunctory scene to hard-hitting greatness.
In a continued celebration of some of gaming’s ear-pleasing aural accomplishments, PSU presents yet another instalment in our on-going Classic Tracks series. After plenty of retro-fuelled entries, we’re bringing out latest entry back to PlayStation 3, focusing on Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune’s Main Theme.

Every decent action hero worth his salt needs an accompanying theme to make people sit up and take notice. Take cinematic legend Indiana Jones for example; the archaeologist adventurer has become synonymous not only for his whip-cracking, on-screen antics, but for his iconic theme tune to boot. Indeed, in many ways, these tracks become an extension of the very character themselves. Uncharted’s cheeky chappy Nathan Drake is no exception to this, and Uncharted’s Main Theme is certainly a fitting tribute to our extroverted treasure hunter.
The track effortlessly incorporates the core elements of the Uncharted franchise, mixing exotic-tinged moments with a roaring, adventurous tone that is befitting of Drake’s character. The tune speaks volumes, and even if you only possess a modicum of knowledge on the series, one listen of this euphoric number is enough to cement the meat-and-potatoes of Naughty Dog’s lauded treasure hunting extravaganza on the brain. A modern classic.
