College Hoops 2K9 cancelled

2K Sports has confirmed that they will not be developing College Hoops 2K9. Apparently talks between 2K and the CLC have broken down and stopped completely. This has caused 2K to can their superior college basketball game.
“2K Sports has decided not to continue negotiations with the CLC for the license for its top-rated College Hoops franchise, which would have been released next in November 2008. We are committed to providing fans with high-quality, critically-acclaimed sports games, but given our disciplined approach to the business, we do not believe the current discussions would result in an acceptable outcome.”
The rumor going around is that EA Sports is trying to procure an exclusive deal much like the NFL license they already control. This is a sad day for college hoop fans as 2K was undoubtedly the better developer of the two for basketball gaming.
We’ll try and keep you up to date as more news breaks on this subject.

wow this blows bigger than monica with clinton, now were just going to see bad quality sports games being produced with EA buying out licenses to confirm no competition, which means no type of innovation.
