Electronic Arts has officially unveiled the next instalment in the highly successful Command and Conquer series, Red Alert 3, due out on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
Developed by EA Los Angeles, the title will feature several new gameplay additions, including all-new units and a story-driven, cooperative campaign.
EA LA Executive Producer, Chris Corry, commented: “It’s been too long”, adding, “Fans have been waiting for a new Red Alert game for seven years, and we’re working hard to ensure its well worth the wait.”
“The team is staying true to the series’ roots while adding new elements like a co-operatively played story-driven campaign, an astounding new faction that will shake-up the Red Alert universe as we know it, and units that will help make Red Alert 3 everything our fans have been waiting for.”
“And by bringing naval combat into the heart of the game design, we’re transporting that fast, fun and fluid C&C gameplay to the high-seas in ways that you’ve never seen before”, added Corry,
Red Alert debuted in 1996 for the PC, and follows a story line completely disparate from the Tiberium-themed elements of current releases. The game was met with both critical and commercial success upon its release, spawning multiple expansion packs, many of which found their way onto the original PlayStation in the late 1990s. A sequel for PC followed in 2001.
Red Alert 3 marks the first time a Command and Conquer title has been seen on a Sony platform since Red Alert: Retaliation was released on the PSOne in 1998.

look. The first red alert game was tied in with the tiberium universe
have you ever played it ? when you finish with soviets Kane enters and states how you will lay low and the brotherhood will rise in the 90s. (Kane being the leader of Nod incase anyone wonders..(i hope not))
You cant compare red alert with starcraft. Completely different. I gotta say i did prefere the old cnc games over the old blizzard ones though. Up until generals. Thats where EA ..did wrong (by dissolving westwood studioes.. the ceo of ea games even admitted that it was a mistake.)
In any case. Ra1 = tie in. Ra2 = spinoff. Ra3 = ?

I hope they're doing the old "bird's-eye view" type old style rts. Not the Fps that was introduced in the later releases. Basically I hope this is the old Civ version of Red Alert.

I still play Red Alert 2 from time to time so I'll be trying this out for sure. I'll do it on PC and not on a console though.

Wa wa wee wa this is GOOD news and with the PS3's ability to use a keyboard and mouse this is great and i cant wait. Oh and can i just ask of one thing? Do you think you could give us the function of split screen for the first time. It would be great to have mates round for battles.
