Crytek and their "secret technologies"

Crytek, the studio behind Crisis and Far Cry, is fast at work developing for all three current-gen consoles. While development was announced for the Wii today, Crytek also revealed some extremely interesting tidbits about their work with the PlayStation 3.

Cevat Yerli, Crytek's head honcho, explained to a small audience that their commitment to the PS3 is far greater than the industry realizes. He stated, "Our PS3 development is going deeper than many people assume right now...[and] the PS3 room is separate because we have some secret technologies being developed there which are not related to CryEngine 2." Hold on one second, some studios are actually looking for potential rather than a cop out? It's amazing to see the support of all three consoles as well as exclusive focus on the PS3.

In closing, after commenting about a potential departure from first-person shooters, Yerli stated, "For that, we're optimising technology, but for another reason, the future in general, there is a dedicated PS3 team." Great news from a popular studio and even more so for the future of the PS3.

    I just hope they do there part in makeing TIME CRISSIS the game it can be with one badass and fast working gun.

    Isnt Time crisis a Namco game?? and namco is makin a Time Crisis 4 with a new gun

    I do admire Crytek since they can make one damn good looking game. I can't wait to see what they'll do with the PS3

    psn id: gingo... i have always liked Crytek as a developer and they have not let me down maybe EA  and Ubisoft should take a note and make PS3 games superior like they should be

    this is rad. finally, developers who see the value of the cell. i hope they make use of the sixaxis. maybe it can be used within the game using swathing motions like tom cruise in minority report.

    this is really reallly good news. Crytek is an amazing developer, and i cant wait to see what graphically adavance game they have for the ps3.

    :O oh my something thats not gunna be an fps surprise surprise :P anyways what ever they come up with is sounding pretty sweet and secret techs can only be a good thing :D
