DC Universe to release in early 2010

Sony Online Entertainment’s super hero extravaganza DC Universe Online should be with us by early 2010, according to scriptwriter Geoff Johns.
Speaking with MTV, Johns said that there’s a possibility the hotly anticipated MMO romp might even scrape by in late 2009, stating, "It launches I think in early 2010, it could be late 2009.”
Elsewhere, Johns hinted that gamers can expect some of the lesser-known characters from the DC franchise to pop up in the game, aside from regular staples such as Batman and Superman.
"Everyone knows Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, but this game gets you more entrenched in the universe. You meet the Metal Men, or Doom Patrol, and everyone gets a chance to embody something different," he explained.
"I like the idea that your secret identity is really outside the computer. You're a normal guy, and then when you log on to the game, you become the superhero."
Lastly, he pointed out that he’s not penning the entire script for the game, noting that doing so would likely compel him to leap off the top of the nearest building.
"I've written the overall story and the path that gets you into the game and the areas of the universe and how to explore them, but not every line of dialogue. That's a full-time job, it's too frigging big, too intense to write every line of an MMO. I'd probably jump off a building," Johns concluded.

I was hoping for late 2009...
Oh well if they are trying to make it the best that it can be i guess it is worth it.

Ugh. I mean,afetr seeing early screens, the game definately needs it, but I think I'll be waist-deep in another MMORPG by then. It's a race between Star Trek, DCU and The Agency.

WOW......as usual the delaystation announces something 2yrs b4 it's really gonna happen....there's a fu<king suprise. sometimes i really like sony ps other times i wonder why are they a game maker because they don't have a fu<king clue on how to please there consumers.

not surprising it's a pretty big project so i was expecting this, besides agency is coming out 09 anyways
