DOOM 4 looks better than Rage

During QuakeCon 08 this week, id Software's John Carmack revealed that the next DOOM title will look better than id's other upcoming title, Rage.
"The next DOOM game will look like it's built on another engine, as it uses three times the horsepower," said Carmack.
The game is built on an upgraded version of the Tech 5 engine, which supposedly provides astounding visual quality. However, the enhanced graphics will come at a performance cost; Carmack stated that Rage will run at a solid 60 frames per second, while the next DOOM title will only run at 30 frames per second.
So far, DOOM 4 (unofficial title) has only been officially announced for PC. Since the game is built on the multiplatform Tech 5 engine though, we can assume the game will be coming to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well.

Never was a huge fan of Doom, but I remember when my friend downloaded a patch to make Simpson's Doom and that was just hilarious and loved every minute that I played.

no im pretty sure if it goes multiplat it will come to ps3 with all of the big devs EA activision and various others predicting the ps3 suprassing 360 this year plus john carmack recently said that bluray will offer better graphics for rage because it allows for uncompressed assets

psn id: gingo... i dont know how to feel about doom 4, i loved the originals (doom, doom 2 and final doom) but doom 3 was a massive letdown for me so hopefully doom 4 is taken back to the original style and back to its old greatness with better graphics obviously

Well, so much for getting Rage. Why support somebody who thinks your platform sucks? Pass. That's a crying shame, too. He clearly states that they had to cut back on the visuals just to fit it on a dvd for that piece of schit 360, and in the same breath states that it's a superior platform. No phucking way am I buying that hacked-up game now. He needs to be strapped to one of his own rockets as it crashes into the earth from a couple thousand feet.

this game will be superb, but why 30fps if so then how the heck did COD4 get perfect 60fps while at full 1080p quality?
@ Falanz13....no i strongly disagree with you. going back to run and gun will just make it another crappy shooter. and everyone who loved DOOM 3 will b*tch at the game including you nagging that the game sux. shooter titles need the word "innovation" in them more often if you know what i mean. Not just Run 'n Gun, thats just typical and stupid like some stereotypical meathead. Ya might as well say: "i can has run an gun shootr, i lik run an gun cuz i r meethed." Shooters are getting way to typical and we all know that. I dont care what other opinion you have what i say is the truth and everyone knows it. PS3 deserves better shooter quality that contains that INNOVATION it needs to keep the shooter games alive. Just let id software do their thing.

if its gonna be such an amazing game how could it fit on the 360,this should be a pc -ps3 only game so devs can make the most out of it
