Eat, Sleep and Play’s David Jaffe has admitted that he had slightly bigger aspirations for the original God of War than what ultimately made it into the final product.

Speaking with 1up.com in regards to any disappointments he had with Kratos’ first outing, Jaffe stated, “I did have a sort of a bigger story that I personally was hoping to tell, and a bigger game that I was hoping to make.”

He added: “I think the fact that the realities of day-to-day production, and the financial realities of the game business, made it so it really wasn’t practical or realistic for me to stay on to sort of continue telling the story of God of War in the way that I wanted to, even though I’ve been very happy with the sequels we’ve done so far.”

Keep your eyes peeled for new information on God of War III later this week.

He did say he was envious of Kojima being able to fully create his vision in mgs4. Maybe he didn't have the resources to fully express his personal vision.

I've only just picked up GoWII (yesterday as a matter of fact... I know, I know, I'm late to the party) and all I can think about as I play it is how amazing III will be on the PS3.

I think there was supposed to be an extra boss at the end of Pandora's Temple after the travelator thing.

I hope they can surpass God of War 2 with bosses and whatnot because it had a very healthy amount.

They did say they had difficulties with creating bosses in God of War. That's why there were so few. They worked out that issue in God of War 2 so that's why there are plenty of bosses in that game.

@overcast, in fact kojima wasn't able to creat mgs4 to his vision, dont forget that kojima is a pure hardcore perfectionist so to him even perfect is not good enough!

@Inbetweener, your not the only one behind, I havn't even played the first God of War!
