In addition to the brilliant Max Payne 3 being released today, PC gamers can pick up the long-awaited action role-playing game Diablo 3. Diablo is a franchise that has earned massive support from gamers over the years so it’s no wonder the Internet appears to be crying out for a console port this week.
Well, earlier today a PS3 version of Diablo 3 cropped up on Polish retailer’s website via ps3site.pl. It seems a bit of an obscure place for such a leak to occur if it was true, but it’s quite interesting that the website listed its release date as July 1, 2013.
The box-shot of the PS3 version of Diablo 3 has since been removed and the latest word from Blizzard to debunk the rumour comes from game director Jay Wilson, who says:
“We haven’t officially announced it, because we’re not ‘experimenting. We tell people that basically we’re experimenting, because it helps us hire people. The better people we hire, the better chance we have to actually make it. That’s why we haven’t kept it super secret, but we also haven’t confirmed it, because we’re not sure yet whether we think it will work, and whether we think we have the resources to do it.”
Preorder box-shot of Diablo 3 for PS3?
Once again, Blizzard isn’t confirming or denying whether Diablo will make it to consoles at some point, it’s just teasing us by saying that it hasn’t starting production on it yet. For now though, it seems the only way gamers gamers can get a taste of what Diablo 3 might be like of PS3 is to buy the PC version and play it with a PS3 controller.
