According to our source at Gamestop, EA has removed the PlayStation 3 version of Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 from their upcoming release list.
Earlier this week, we reported that the PS3 version of the title may be in trouble, with EA's Red Alert 3 Community Manager stating, “I can't speak of the PS3 version right now."

We are in the process of contacting EA to find out the reason behind the cancellation.
UPDATE:
PSU.com has received word from EA on Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3, following similar suit to what had been said earlier on Strategy Informer.
"The PS3 is a powerful platform that would be a great fit for an RTS game in the future," said EA's Tammy Schachter.
"Development of Red Alert 3 for PS3 has been put on hold. EALA is focusing resources on development for PC and Xbox 360 which will ship simultaneously this fall."

*goes and slams head against wall, sits back down*
I hate EA, I cannot understand their problem with the ps3. I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT IS THAT HARD OF A CONSOLE TO DESIGN ON. THINGS SHOULD OF GOT BETTER BY NOW WITH NEW DEVELOPMENT KITS.
They did a rubbish port of Half Life, messed up on Army of Two.
Im not buying a single EA game anymore, except for this one lol, im fed up with getting screwed over... maybe I should buy an xbox instead. Faiing that il have to get a new pc, mines really old and I want to try this and far cry 2. I really was looking forward to this on ps3.
Damn you EA and your lazy development team.

Although I grow more frustrated with EA following this announcement, I have to agree with HeLIFiRe20. RTS is indeed meant for the PC. I had Kessen for the PS2 and it just didn't do it for me the way RTS can engulf you on the PC, and I am not even a huge RTS fan. I mean, I've not got into them vigorously. Nevertheless, I have seen how addictive they have become and RTS, along with a few other genres are just meant for the PC.
For example, First Person RPGs(with Real Time Fighting). Outside of the second half of the Elder Scrolls series(only III and IV), there has not been a highly successful First Person RPG series with the masses. For most who have experienced Elder Scrolls on the PC and console, many I have spoken to still prefer it on the PC.
The only series that would come close would be considered to have a cult following(stronger in Japan) and that is the King's Field series.

Its so hilarious I think you Americans should march outside EA's offices like the devs must be a pathetic bunch the worst ever complaining about how hard it is to design a game on a PS3. Have'nt seen Johnathan Mak,Idolheads and Q games complaining WTH

If you hate EA and you are still planning on getting this game on another format, you are an idiot! Let me put it another way, you are part of the problem! THE ONLY REASON EA ADDED ONLINE LEAGUES (AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS) TO MADDEN IS BECAUSE MADDEN SALES DROPPED 13% LAST YEAR. Not because dork kids complained and BOUGHT THE GAME ANYWAY! F----n' dumb-ass, pimply-faced, no-vag-gettin' dufuses! Use your ugly heads and THINK! F----n' THINK! I never saw so many people willing to take crap and pay cash for it, then have the nerve to complain about expense! DUMB!

I disagree with anyone who says "RTS games are for PCs" because the line between a PC and a PS3 is so blurred that you cannot honestly make that distinction. In fact, my PS3 and PC use the same Monitor/TV and the same Keyboard and Mouse, and is sitting not on my TV center, but on my Desk.
As long as EA adds (or would have added) Mouse and keyboard support (no reason why they wouldnt) then anyone saying that RTS games are for the PC has their head up their a**.
This was one of the games that I was looking forward to more than anything, it will be a very sad day indeed if they cancel the PS3 version. Even though I own _every_ C&C game, I will not purchase this even for the PC if this is their plan.

I did wonder what pathetic excuse they'd brew up for this one. Then I noticed that it says "removed from UPCOMING release list" so perhaps it's not totally scrapped. JP needs to tone down the sensationalist reporting me thinks.
Not that I play RTS but I would have thought that C&C (being the household name that it is) might become a great seller on PS3. I would be suprised if this was indefinitely cancelled.

@ Xdeth
How is there any difference at all? If I hook my PS3 up to my monitor, put it on my desk, plug in my keyboard and mouse, there is no difference between the two.
I could understand, in a way, if you were comparing users playing with a controler vs those playing with a mouse, but there is nothing preventing game developers from having mouse support in an RTS on the PS3 so this is a moot point.
Not to mention, speaking as a huge RTS fan (I have practically every major RTS since Dune 2 on the Genesis) I disagree that controler vs mouse is a vaild argument. Granted it might be a little easier selecting units with a mouse instead of an analog stick, but thats the only real advantage. RTS games are less about lighting fast reflexes (like an FPS) and more about strategy, that little advatage is not going to help you win a fight against any decent RTS player.

Hum....
Even Sony London shelves two PS3 titles: The Getaway and Eight Days. http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=18889
And to Atreides :If you own every Command & Conquer games and you have your PS3 and your PC plug on your TV you just have to buy Red Alert 3 for the PC. As you said: " the line between a PC and a PS3 is so blurred that you cannot honestly make that distinction."
I own every C&C games and if EA don't do it for the PS3 I will buy the PC version.
If a game is good I don't care on witch platform it is and if it is made by EA or another publisher. I just buy good games.
There is too much peoples that use "four letter word" in this forum.

@Sony1978a - Downloading torrents for PS2 games is just as easy. Its only a matter of time for PS3.
Anyway, I think not getting C&C sux as I quite like the games to date. Plus I think we need something other than more FPS and a few OK racers on PS3. We need some good variety in gaming.
