EA considering Dead Space Extraction for PSN/XBLA?

Following lacklustre sales of its on-rails horror romp Dead Space: Extraction on Wii, it seems the folks at EA are looking to expand the prequel to new audiences via PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade.
That’s according to a recent survey, which suggests the company is flirting with the idea of bringing the horror game to both Sony and Microsoft’s online service in full HD, while retaining the original’s "guided first-person experience.” A tentative price point has been set at around $15 USD.
Elsewhere, the survey also mentions a Dead Space 2 extension called Planet Cracker, which apparently takes the form of a "resource strategy game where players will manage a CEC Mining operation,” in order to yield in-game bonuses for the main game.
Apparently, both Extraction and Planet Cracker are being considered as possible pre-order incentives for punters looking to reserve Dead Space 2. Sounds like a good idea to us. Stay tuned.

I'm tired of hating on EA anymore. What's more, we have the original Dead Space and the wii actually got a downgraded port at a ltaer time. I don't blame them for wanting to expand it to another audience. All this means is that we get a fuller experience while the wii is stuck with what they got. Not too shabby IMO.

you know, why would any game developer/publisher even try to release a horror game on the Wii?? I know the Wii has Resident Evil 4 and some others, but if that console is promoted as a "family gaming device" do they really think that families are going to buy a horror game to play? especially dead space? with their catalog full of sports/recreation/puzzle/exercise games, can they really attract people with horror games? bring it to PSN and the other network. that would be great. At least then you would have an older audience who understands the game in the first place. and not a bunch of little kids or overly concerned parents who only want their kids to play sports. bring it on!!

"guided first-person experience." is Rail Shooter a dirty word?
I look forward to this on the PSN, Extraction was a pretty solid game -

This would be badass with PS3 graphics and the new motion controller... I freakn loved Deadspace... if we get stuff like this for pre-ordering, I'll pre-order once I see a decent trailer that shows me the game is awesome (I'm sure it will be). Seriously, EA has a hit on their hands with Deadspace... I so didn't expect it to be as great as it was.

Cool. $15 for another Dead Space game, sounds like pretty great news to me. I won't complain about them making the game originally for the Wii - we got Dead Space, they got this little spin-off, and now we're getting that too - in HD for a lot less than they paid for it LOL.
