EA delays Mercenaries 2/Battlefield: Bad Company

Electronic Arts announced today that two of it's anticipated titles will be getting delayed into the 2009 fiscal year, commencing April 1, 2008.

The games in question are Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, and Battlefield: Bad Company. From the look of things, it seems that we won't be seeing either of these games before Q2 of 2008 at the earliest.

This comes as quite a blow to PlayStation 3 owners, as several other titles have been pushed back lately, including the powerhouse title Haze, which has been set back more than once.

Although no date was given for these games by EA, online retailers have begun showing tentative release dates for Mercenaries in August. This is quite the delay from the planned "early 2008" date that was originally announced back in 2007.

As always, PSU will inform you of any and all updates, so check back for the latest.

Can EA actually do anything right? All they seem to do is moan etc. Maybe they have too much on their plate and shoud only focus on one or two titles at once.

EA are the worst game developers ever when it comes to the PS3. Get real and keep up with the times, start creating games with 1080P, I wish developers would jump into the next gen world and keep up with the rest of the markets!!!

psn id: gingo.... i think companies are going to learn not to set a release date until they are 100% certain that they will release on that day because gamers just get pissed off when the game doesn't come and reduces sales

delayed has become ps3's middle name, we have the best console on the market but dev's just can't stick to thier release date's, they should wait until the game is 90% done before releasing a date, it will make them look less slacky and stupid and more porfessional

I don't understand the point of announcing delays yet covering up release dates. I ideology is utterly moronic. :/

I thought EA was suppose to be this Big company with alot of money, but really they cant make a f'in game for PS3. Insomniac and Naughty Dog dont nearly have the same amount of money as EA but make bigger, better games wihtout DELAYING THEM!!!!!
