EA not the only company interested in Take-Two

Last Sunday, we reported Take-Two Interactive has rejected the deal to be acquired by Electronic Arts but will be interested in negotiations further down the road. This deal would have given EA the rights over both Rockstar Games and 2K Games which are both power contenders in the industry.

Now, it is reported that EA is only one of many companies who are playing around with the idea of acquiring Take-Two. During a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company stated that there has been "informal indications of interest in a business combination," however the company "has not engaged in any substantive discussions with any party (including EA) with respect to a business combination."

Currently we do not have any idea which companies are involved for the bid to gain control over Take-Two, but a possible contender includes Activision Blizzard, which has made their fair share of moves in the past to gain ground against EA. We will continue to update you on this possible buyout/merger/takeover as more develops.

    Activision/Blizzard!  But can you imagine the kind of impact on Microsoft if Sony bought them, the console war will have gas thrown on the fire!

    It would make no sense for Sony or MS to purchase Take 2, unless they plan on releasing on the competing systems. Or taking a cut in revenue.

    Microsoft buy T2 YAY...lol. seriously my guess is activition or ubi, unlikely for sony or Ms to buy them. oh and gta was not sony exclusive it came out on original xbox like a year after, time exclusive for sony ps2

    For all the people saying "anyone but EA"...surely you don't want MS to own T2. Activision I can live with...but just like most I would rather Sony sweep them up.

    Sony should buy them - we need to get back our exclusive games.

    EA sometimes pretends to like Sony but all their actions speak differently. PS3 games suck when EA is involved. They treat us like afterthoughts. ANYONE but EA - those guys are aligned with MS.

    It would be ideal if Sony bought T2 but I cant see it happening due to the money involved I doubt the potential returns would make such a deal justifiable .... although I would love Sony to prove me wrong

    I wouldn't be surprised, with their rights on Rockstar and 2k and more recently EA's push for their attainment others definitely want in as well.

    If Activision takes over Take 2. We will get good games like World of GTA(GTAmmo and Tony hawks grand theft auto(Skateboarding with guns), If Ea takes over take 2. GTA 2009 with bugs.No more 2K sports, will certainly close down Rockstar after 2 years. Ea actually made a bid for Ubisoft meaning Rayman Raving rabbids 2009 and ruining TC endwar online noooooooooo.
