Publisher Electronic Arts today officially announced development of Command and Conquer: Tiberium, confirming earlier reports unveiled in the latest issue of US publication Game Informer.
According to the company, Tiberium has been in pre-production for the past two years at EA Los Angeles, and will indeed feature a mixture of first person and squad-based gameplay.
Mike Verdu, VP and General Manager at EA Los Angeles, commented, "EALA has a long history of developing ground breaking real-time strategy games with the Command & Conquer series.”
"Now, we are growing Tiberium from a simple backdrop to a fully realised universe with its own unique, hybrid squad-based shooter gameplay. This is the birth of a new franchise – we couldn't be more excited," he added.
Command and Conquer: Tiberium is due out on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in Autumn 2008. Stay tuned for more details as they break.

Shaka, how are you enjoying the EA bandwagon?
And please, don't get burnout, I'd rather not play online with total d1ckbags.
