Electronic Arts has announced a second "ultimate" edition of Burnout Paradise which includes the Cagney, Bikes and Burnout Party downloadable content packs, slated to come thundering onto PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next February. High-fives to MCV for the tip-off.
Criterion's Burnout Paradise boomed into Europe and North America this January, and was promptly inundated with sky-high review scores and downloadable updates. The Cagney pack (released over PlayStation Network in July) taped on three new multiplayer modes, while the Bikes pack (September) stirred in two-wheeled rides and a day-night cycle. The Burnout Party download (also slated for release in February) focuses on single console multiplayer, with a pass-the-controller challenge mode for the peripheral-deficient, and will grant PS3-owners access to the Burnout Paradise Network.
As attentive readers will know (wake up!), there are three more DLC packs on the way. Really, Criterion, you're spoiling us.

I have a feeling the Paradise Island update may come out before this / the party pack, and might not be included in these 4 newly mentioned packs. :) The party pack will be paid for content too people, not free this time.

I've barely played BP since wipeout came out.
Purely because i wanna play with real life friends/family split screen!
I really wish BP could implement that.
Still i can't argue BP is a great game, the download content has been consistent and of excellent quality, i just wished they were working on a 2 player mode, remember the good old day pre-t'internet when we HAD to play splitscreen/lan with honest to god fleshy friends?
Good days.

Considering the size of the updates it makes total sense to compile the whole thing on a single disk. Anyone buying it to day has to download hundreds of MB of data before they can play, That's WAAAAY longer thant the 5 - 15 minute wait some people complain about with mandatory install data.
Has anyone looked at the island across the water? You can see it from the top of the car park on Angus Wharf, that thing looks HUGE. I have a feeling it'll cost money. The last few updates where simple and helpful, the next one is voluntary and not something you HAVE to have so they made it a fee based add on. The Island? not necessary but it stands to offer a MAJOR amount of new things to do.
Heck just the length of the bridge itself could make for a race on it's own... and probably will.
