With the upcoming release of Twisted Metal: Head On, David Jaffe and Scott Campbell sat down for interviews and the two co-founders of the development studio, Eat Sleep Play, revealed interesting new tidbits about their future project(s).
David Jaffe has long been known and respected for his work with the first God Of War game on the PlayStation 2. Jaffe has made sure to stay close to the Sony brand since his departure from Sony and his subsequent formation of Eat Sleep Play. After releasing Calling All Cars as the first title from his new development studio, Jaffe is getting set to release the latest game in the Twisted Metal franchise and is giving gamers a clue to pay close attention to the game as it may reveal new hints about Eat Sleep Play's next project.
"Listen, if you want to know what our next game is, it's absolutely revealed if you have a sharp eye in Twisted Metal Head On: Extreme Edition. It's hidden really, really, really well. And just because it's hidden in Twisted Metal doesn't mean it has anything to do with Twisted Metal. That's why it's so well hidden. It's a really cryptic riddle we put in there."
Both Jaffe and Campbell chimed in and let gamers know their thoughts on the most current topics in gaming including the controversial comment Jaffe made on the prospect of a one-console future. Jaffe and Campbell both agreed that there was a misunderstanding in those comments as both agree that they don't mind seeing various consoles on the market, but continue to hope for one standardized format to develop on which would make that process much easier for developers.
The two also revealed that "Calling all Cars" was supposed to be a much more mature oriented game but at the last minute decided to make it appealing to a broader audience. They also revealed that a God of War type project would be out of the question but both would like to delve into the realm of an online multiplayer game such as Sony's online exclusive, Warhawk.
