i think thats pretty much right as i cant see a ps3 anywhere where i live for sale there all sold out! (i dont need one i have 60gb) good news if this does happen

The only reason we wanted it was for Backwards Compatability. Not the HDD space.

Exactly, HDD is upgradable anyway. I also prefer the memory slots for transfering pictures from digital cameras.

yea sony definitely dropped the ball with this dumb move, they should of dropped the 40GB ps3 to $299 and the 80GB mgs4 bundle to $399....dumb move by sony...

Well at least Sony is stil elling the PS3, but with a much larger HD.

I really hope, that it'll have Backwards Compatability (B/C), or else so'll it not be much better, than the 40 GB one! :( 

I don't understand this move either, either keep the 80GB with B/C as the only console and make it $399 or keep the 40GB one too and make it $299 while the 80GB one is $399.

All I can say is its about time. I bought a 60gb model from game and took out their extended warranty which meant if my console broke they would replace it with the next available one. I got my first one replaced after it stopped reading discs, and I was worried if it broke again I would get stuck with the 40gb. Also a number of my fiends have been waiting for this just because of BC.

im from the uk and i have a 60 gb dat aint reading my games and sony aint doing naink about it so i need 2 know wen the 80 gb comin out so i can trade my 60 in to the company and how much THE 80 IS
