According to Eurogamer, Criterion has announced yet another round of downloadable content for Burnout Paradise, rapidly becoming the best supported racing title in history. You have to learn to let go, guys. There's Burnout Paradise 2 to think of, surely?
As you'll know from our meticulous reportage, Criterion has promised to release a jaw-dropping four new DLC packs by Spring 2009. The latest update, termed Toy Cars and slated for release on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live next year, features five new vehicles with a - you guessed it - rather infantile feel. Apparently a Monster Truck is included.
No other details (including likely price points, or whether the cars constitute the whole of the update) have been revealed, but rest assured - PSU's cyber deerhounds are scouring the Internets for more.

Burnout Paradise 2? What planet is the reporter on?
Why would we want another game that we pay for when Criterion have given us pretty much an entire game for free (will the rest of EA please take note).
And price point? Um, they're free, that's the whole point of the "Free updates".
Come on PSU, better articles please. (And don't just delete this comment because it's slightly negative).

The Burnout Paradise 2 reference was what we in the game press biz term a "joke", mate. And as for getting the pack for free, you'll notice that the developer talks about "purchasing" the Paradise Party pack on its website - http://www.criteriongames.com/packs/party.php - which suggests some of the upcoming DLC won't be going gratis. Again, nothing has been confirmed.

Love this game... and still playing it. This company sure knows how to keep people interested. I won't mind paying for this content at all, since they have given us so much for free already.

This is hilarious....I remember from the horses mouth in an interview that all these islands downloaded extra cities and/or DLC packs were supposed to be for free.... its funny how people just pull the cover over peoples heads. On the other hand right now, I guess everyone is trying to make it thru the economy crisis....so maybe giving away things for free isn't the best way to stay afloat.

The new updates are not all free, just because they've given us such unpresidented amounts for free so far dosent mean they'll continue... remember this is EA we're talking about. the people who sell cheatcodes for 2 bucks on the store to unlock things you can get by just playing the game.
In reality this is much better than a Burnout paradise 2, we continue to reap rewards and enjoyment from one game over a long period of time for far less money than having to buy a second at 60 bucks every year with similar content and barely any advancement... y'know like Madden.
