Developers from Total Overdose and Deadline Games have announced their new next-gen shooter titled Faith and a .45. The game is going to be a take on the Great Depression in the United States while offering a storyline to rival Bonnie and Clyde.
Deadline says the game is a "gritty, cross-country epic" featuring a "heavy focus on characters, co-operative gameplay, road movie storytelling, and cinematic aesthetics." Deadline also included, "…two outlaw lovers destined to go down in history, Luke and Ruby, who will battle an oppressive enemy force, led by a ruthless, corrupt oilman whose out for their blood."
As expected, not much else has been released for the title and both studios are awaiting GDC in order to push this game towards publishers from all over, as will most studios come that time. Deadline Games is a studio known to have its roots in the Hollywood scene and have commented that they understand the importance of a unique storyline in the videogame world.
With a tornado of shooters already on the market and a flurry of them to come, we can only hope that the uniqueness of this title gives us something to look forward to. With the history of both of these developers being pretty solid, we can only hope for the best.

I actually think it sounds like a solid idea for a plot. It all comes down to how it looks and plays though, obviously... At least it's not your typical Haze/Halo/Gears shooter, if you know what I mean... It sounds like it'll give a new look to the genre.

yeah I like games that play with your mind, Portal was a good one for me, but when I see these new games Dave they just seem like the gaming standard, I don't think we americanized the game industry I just think theres an inability to reach out and branch new genres. I dont mind FPS dont get me wrong but please make it interesting and a whole new gameplay.
one ting that comes in mind is dual wield guns but able to aim at two seperate targets. That sounds like fun or being able to slide or dive while shooting, You know like the john woo films but more realistic.

@ daveW but haze has TPS and FPS elements... I would like to go back in time, instead of everyone coming out with future shooters. Thats why i loved Mafia and am soooo excited about Mafia 2, GTA, Eight days and 2days2vegas, cause they are NOT FUTURISTIC. And then GTA usually has great storyline, and being in the Mafia is always fun...

This could be a very interesting game. I'll definitely see how it develops. If it turns out good, I hope Sony snaps it up.

Hopefully It'll be a third person shooter. Even with all the great FPS games coming out, the genre is becoming overkill. Great sounding story line, though. Sounds promising.
