Famitsu confirms Chun Li in Street Fighter IV

The latest issue of Japan’s Famitsu Weekly has confirmed that Chun Li will be appearing in the upcoming Street Fighter IV as a fully playable character.

Furthermore, the issues confirms that veteran combatants Blanka, Dhalsim, E. Honda, Guile and Zangief will also be returning for this latest instalment in the popular fighting series, joining previously confirmed characters Ryu, Ken and newcomer Viper.

Elsewhere, the magazine also touches on some of the new gameplay elements that Capcom plans to incorporate into the game, including the Saving Attack and Ultra Combo systems.

According to Street Fighter IV Producer Yoshinori Ono, the Saving Attack provides a "critical spice" for the game, and is linked to the title’s emphasis on offence as opposed to Street Fighter III’s blocking technique. While Ono neglected to go into detail, he did add that the Ultra Combo system would add "fireworks that are bigger than super combos."
