First of all, we hope you all had an eventful holiday packed with heaps of gaming goodness – ours certainly was. Still, we’re done scoffing turkey and dealing out punishment to unsuspecting newbies online on Uncharted 2, so let’s get the ball rolling for another year.
The latest issue of Japanese publication Famitsu magazine has declared via a recent poll that Sony’s unveiling of the swanky PlayStation 3 Slim model was 2009’s biggest news story.
Following closely behind is the Japanese release date announcement for Final Fantasy XIII, while two PSP-related stories – namely the PSPgo announcement and PSP-3000 price cut – also made the top ten at five and seven, respectively.
Check out the full list below.
1.PS3 Slim announcement
2.Final Fantasy XIII dated in Japan
3.Dragon Quest IX sells two million in two days
4.DSi LL releases in Japan
5.The PSPgo is announced
6.Nintendo’s R4 lawsuit
7.PSP-3000’s price-cut
8.Project Natal’s announcement
9.Final Fantasy XIV Online’s Reveal
10.The Last Guardian revealed

Nintendo has recruited a total of 54 other companies and is launching a new lawsuit against the makers and distributors of the R4 Revolution device for the Nintendo DS.
The R4 is essentially a firmware override and MicroSD adapter for the Nintendo DS. Using the device gamers can load custom software on the DS by loading them onto a MicroSD card. The R4 then bypasses the Nintendo firmware and loads a new custom version which allows access to the SD card.
The R4 is typically used for running homebrew games made by bedroom coders, but can also be used to run pirated games and emulators - all of which Nintendo frown on.
Nintendo's new lawsuit is aimed at stopping the manufacture and sales of the R4 and the court case is being supported by companies such as SNK, Capcom, Square Enix, Tecmo and The Pokemon Company.
alright psu members, here's the claritifacation.
