Final Fantasy release date rumors debunked

With rumors spreading across the Internet of a possible 2008 release date for Final Fantasy XIII for the PlayStation 3, Square Enix has released an announcement today to clarify the situation.

Reports suggested that the game would release this Christmas season, with a demo hitting the network sometime in the second half of the year.

However, the official announcement states: "Although information regarding the release date of FINAL FANTASY XIII has been reported by certain videogame websites, Square Enix itself has yet to make an official statement on this topic.”

“Any reports of a confirmed release date are erroneous and should be disregarded. Square Enix will make an official announcement in the future concerning the release date when it has been determined."

It seems that RPG fans may have a longer wait than hoped, be sure to check back for more details as they become available.

    even if  ff13 comes out before christmas, that's just the release date for japan but for europe it's a whole different story so i don't expect to pick this one up before 2nd quarter 2009, at the earliest.

    In the last article that I read on here about this, I thought you guys said Nomura confirmed it himself. If it wasn't official you shoulda said so

    it will be but they want to suprise people, you know if they already know release date then SE party wont be that big of a deal and tgs 2, so let them hide and cover it if they want

    They have cover pictures up on Amozon.com, though I bet they aren't the real ones, they look good, but also rather bland.
