The 1.92 firmware update hit PS3s earlier today. Here are the features:
"Playability status with the PS3TM system has changed for some PLAYSTATION®3 format titles*."
This is according to the official press release on the UK PlayStation site
Sadly, this doesn't affect the Middle East, Europe, or Oceania.
Great update then. Anyway, now that 1.92 is out of the water, the next update could be 2.00 (big jumps in version number have occured before).
Hopefully not only will it arrive with PlayStation Home, the 3D social networking environment, but also an in-game cross media bar.
Stay tuned to PSU for more firmware update related information.

I don't think thats all they put in the update, this website: http://computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=171299 says that there are some other things in the update, some of which are pretty cool actually, I haven't had the time to see if they're true or not but if they are then a good update indeed.

If it was for the uk only, why the h*ll did all other territories have to download it as standard??? Come on Sony... you are able to differenciate the PSstore, surely you could do the same for patches!

At least they're updating! MS only updates the 360 software about once a quarter (every 3 months). This at least lets us know Sony's working on it

Would you people quit complaining that this didnt add any features? From what I have gathered, it was to fix the freezing issue Warhawk was having. Not every firmware upgrade from ANY company is going to add features. Often they are just bug fixes. Please, for the love of monkeys, Chill out and quitcherbichen.

Not a bad update at all. "the chaps at NeoGAF however point out an improved internet browser, mini-clips in the video section, auto-power-off for controllers, improved PS1 and PS2 support and the abilitiy to use Flash wallpapers on the XMB - so finally someone might be able to come up with something pretty enough to consider replacing the default background." And I noticed XMB is snappier now.

Nice to see that they are also paying attention to B/C.
