It's entirely natural that there will be launch hiccups for a game as large as Killzone 2. It appears, however, that Guerrilla Games is dedicated to fixing those issues as soon as possible.
The first Killzone 2 patch will be released today, in order to fix a bug some users are having accessing the game's online servers. This patch should remedy the "-931 error" many players are experiencing while trying to boot up the game's multiplayer mode.
"There will also be a new patch released in the next two hours to hopefully fix this [problem]," writes Guerrilla Games Producer Seb Downie. "In the mean time, stay cool and normal service will resume shortly."
If you've already picked up your copy of Killzone 2, online play should now be functional. Hooray!

this is an awesome developer, releasing patches before the games come out, yah i know it has been out in Europe for a little while, but still before the game comes out, /6 takes months to release their patches

Ordered mine from Play.com Tuesday night, recieved it yesterday :) Haven't had much time to play on it, particularly online as i was getting this problem, but the patch seems to have fixed it, and the little online i have played is brilliant. The gunfights are seriously intense!

I haven't had any problems with the online mode, but the story mode has crahed 3 times so far, and 2 of those times its saved the game when its crahed so when I reloaded the save game it would load up like it had crashed before.

Great. Now I get to download a patch with the PS3's horrendously slow download times before I can even try the game for the first time.
I mean, it took nearly two hours to download flower. like 640 MB. I can download that same file on my PC (same internet connection) it 20-30 minutes.
What gives?

The single player game is pretty average overall. This game really shines in the multiplayer. However, the control problems in the demo are even worse in multiplayer. It feels like the game has low framerate or something... it is not remotely easy to aim well, especially in multiplayer games. I have tried setting up my controls better and there is no perfect setting. You either end up too slow or too fast. I hope they fix that.

I wasn't impressed with this game at all. Cool atmospheric effects, but average besides that. I can't stand FPS games with the horrible analog sticks on the PS controller. Give us keyboard and mouse support for games sony! There is no reason not to when both work on the OS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It would attract tons of the PC gamers and that would mean way more sells.

Now if only they could fix the online controls so that it doesn't feel like I'm playing a drunk mong with no hands wielding a howitzer while running through Jelly I'll be happy. At least I can fix the bauked controls in solo mode. Unless they patch it so I can do the same online and make...well... less rubbish I'll be happy. Looks good, plays like a dog!!!
