It seems there has been an ample supply of information revolving around this new racer, GRID, from Codemasters and this video is no exception. The video, featured around gameplay completely, displays a lap of racing behind the wheel of a BMW 320Si. On top of that, it showcases different camera views in-game as well as some realistic damage physics. We've included the video below:
We were blown away by how the back bumper of the vehicle ahead of you is bouncing off the road while still attached, not to mention the nice out of control spin-out that takes place around the third corner or so. We also enjoyed the in-car view and thought it was fantastically done. The game is definitely shaping up to look like a real buy. We here at PSU are very excited for this title and we'll keep you up to date with any news that comes out in regards to it.

Really didn't show much damage physics. And the small non-HD video makes it tough to tell how the game looks.

Hanging bumpers is nothing new in Codemaster games if you have played Colin McRae and the Toca games. I liked Toca 3 (it had nice damage effects) but theres too many racers out there, or on the way for Grid to make an impact I think.
Burnout Paradise sets the bar for all racers. The Graphics, Gameplay and online community is hard to beat.

This alot like DIRT including the sound!! Although will wait to pick this one, the Online in DiRT was poorly done, and i want to see how this one turns out, i dont want to vote on a car and track, i want to my car and choose a track!!!!!!! Though am a HUGE Gran Turismo fan and this isn't even close, and Gran Turismo sets the standard for ALL racing games, very good graphics, great sound and an amazing team! GRiD will have to prove good handling and god online play, codemasters have a tendancy to enhance videos a bit at times to make the look better, as they did in DiRT... I will look forward to this though.

Driving sims bore me. I'll stick with my skills at Motorstorm.

alot of racing games are looking quite good at the moment. the thing is that they will all be released before gran turismo 5 so they needn't worry about it as competition. i think there is big pressure on gran turismo bringing damage to the title. i enjoyed colin mccrae dirt despite what most people say about it. this grid looks phenomenal and i will definitely be keeping an eye on it.

Nah, Sorry but GT5 Prologue looks so much better. That racing game seemed like it had a more "Arcade" feel to it. I like Arcade style racing games, but a game like Grid needs to be a more realistic racing game and needs to have the realism factor while driving the cars.
I saw another video of gameplay/trailer of Grid, and it looked pretty cool, but this video didn't impress me. For racing games like Grid, Gran Turismo is my saviour. For Arcade style racing games, I'm sticking to Motorstorm. There has yet to be a 3rd party racing game for the PS3 that has impressed me except for maybe Burnout Paradise, but I don't like the Free Roaming element in Burnout Paradise.

Codemasters earlier TOCA games (1&2) had the physics pegged much better than GT (plus they had crash damage). For simulation fans, this could be the one to go for as GT is more of an arcade racer, and far too easy for racing fans... I just wish they showed more of the in-car view.

Looks like a good substitute until GT5 comes out for sure. If they nail the on-line part with more than just random races, I think they are on to something here. Something a bit more accesible than GT5 with more focus on fun. If they combine a strong on-line part and add some of the tuning stuff from GT5 I think it'll be a hit.
