Kazunori Yamauchi recently previewed Gran Turismo 5 Prologue at the Games Convention 2007 in Leipzig. He dished out a number of new details that will no doubt get fans of the series excited.
The most asked question in terms of gameplay for Gran Turismo has been whether or not the cars would support damage. When questioned on this, Yamauchi explained that a damage model is being worked on which heavily involves A.I. He went on to state that GT5 is very different in terms of A.I. in that it's fundamentally linked to car damage.
The A.I. is more aware of the track and the turns in it that can cause damage if cars make overly sharp turns. Therefore, the A.I. has a lesser tendency to fall in line, something which can cause a lot of damage.
A North American release has not yet been confirmed for Prologue. However, Japan and Europe should see it on PS Store before the end of 2007.

psn id: gingo.... very cool i've been waiting for this game for a while, well ever since i saw the first trailer but i hope it will be quite cheap
Knowing many GT serious gamers, I believe that they will be skilled enough to avoid most body damage and I hope to be as skilled over time. However, to have a realistic body damage(OF SORTS) would be nice to have as consequence for not taking certain turns improperly. I believe that this prologue was a great idea to get a feel for the GT and mass public and their desires of GT5. The cards are being played well so far in terms of this game's development and marketing. Now, if only that 10,000 car rumor could resurface stronger than ever, as in, you know, reality......
i want it
no no no no, Gran Turismo games should NOT have damage, we were doing just fine without it!
gt2 had a sort of damage. if you hit a wall too hard in arcade mode too many times your car would drive sideways.
I cant wait for this game.!!!!!! I dont care if it has body damage or not. I love the series and from what I have seen so far, this game will hands down be the best PS3 game for a long time.
I want this game very bad, I love the whole series...
Its not very realistic hitting a wall at 180Km an hour and not even bending a panel. Its stupid. If you look at the success that Burnout has had it's evident that people want damage - and not like the crap damage system in Motorstorm, I mean the PS3 should be showing damage at the level of individual bolts, weld points, and shards of glass. Anything less is last gen.
is there going to be many cars? if so is there going to be subarus.
