GT5 Prologue Japan details

Posted on September 21st, 2007 at 20:04 EDT

We've got exciting GT5 Prologue news for you fresh from TGS.

As may you already know, the Japanese will be receiving this slick looking racer on both PSN and Blu-ray this December 13th. However, they (and you if you have a Japanese PSN account) will be getting a demo of the title in approximately a month's time from now on October 24th.

The demo will feature seven new car models including the ever-so-shiny 2009 Nissan Skyline GT-R, the full Suzuka Circuit course, and Time Attack mode. A pretty sweet package that won't cost you a cent.

Pricing details have also been released for the full version of GT5 Prologue in Japan. The Blu-ray price is set at Y4,980 ($43), while the PSN price is set at Y4,500 ($39). Hopefully it'll be cheaper in the US, although unfortunately we expect Europeans to get the shaft on the conversion rates as usual.

We'll keep you updated on all things Gran Turismo from the heart of Tokyo.

Next: Home Open Beta available this year

In an interview with Phil Harrison, GameSpot confirmed that even though PlayStation Home has been delayed until 2008, PS3 users will get to experience Home in some way th...

I am a HUGE GT fan.........that said, 35 bucks for a game demo is a bit much. I am sure the full version will be 70 bucks, so thats 100+ for a game? Yeah, I dont think so..

No, it means the demo of the demo version is free. Sounds weird I know. The full demo has a price though. The max I'll pay is $20, maybe $30. But $40 is too much for me.

Too all the people complaining, if you think its too much then just wait for the full game instead of shedding tears over the forums k? Cheers

WOW GREAT AWESOME - A Demo for the Demo of GT5 0_o wtf!?!

And 40 squids for a Demo is kinda ridiculous. Sony get your sh***t together, I'm tired of all these fu***ing delays, crappy ports, the high price of the PS3 and all together - where's the all-mighty company pwning everything out there that is attempting to step into the market of home-entertainment.

Have all the people MOANING! considered that if they BUY GT5P they may get a discount when they purchase the full package or an option to update game over the net for a discounted price ? If you cant afford it DONT buy and stop moaning, JUST download demo then buy full package later better still dont complain until YOU actually know what Sony is doing!!!!!! with it. Its $39 so should be about £20 to download in the UK it is not really a demo is it because it will have a good selection of cars and tracks and you will be able play online you, will probably be able to dowload packs of tracks/cars at a later date.

So like I said until you know all details STOP THE MOANING!

This is the same price they charged for GT4 Prologue. For those of us who are cryin that it's too expensive i guess this is the same reason why we didn't get GT4 Prologue an why Mr. Yamauchi is takin a wait and see approach to releasin it in NA, because we see it as a typical demo and dont want to pay for it. I hope he can overlook those and see that there are some true car fans and gamers in this region who appreciate GT5 Prologue for what it is.

Probably $29.99 here on disc, $19.99 PSN.  And yes, I'll probably get it.

Mystic - calm down. No one is "moaning" – they are simply stating that paying money for a half game, demo game, gimp game, promo game or whatever you want to call it is plain dumb and you know what Mystic? They are correct.

GT4 Prologue was released in Australia and it is the only "demo thing" that no one wanted to buy – and to this day the second hand shops try and flog them for AU$5 (US$3.75) because... paying for a demo is for idiots who don't know what to do with their valuable money. You know the type Mystic...They are usually poor people who are illiterate and use colloquial slang as a means of communicating. More often than not; these people speak in gutter talk with aggressive tones and will always “blow their pay” on booze, cheap trinkets, & entertainment equipment. Hence they always remain poor. Smart people know the value of money.

Id say because we have already paid out enough for the console and Sony hasn't delivered on the games so demo games should be free anyway. Or are Sony tight asses always moaning moaning moaning - Sony spend the money and stop complaining - hows that Mystic? It works both ways...

@ The Cleaner
You are so right my friend. However it appears that some people on this site are prepared defend Sony no matter what they do and, as I have found out myself, posting anything negative on this site seems upset them on such a personal level you’d swear they’d just caught you sleeping with their mother!! Thank God for the few sane people like yourself and a few others who can see that Sony, like Microsoft and Nintendo, are not your best friends they are merely corporations that will do whatever it takes to make money!

So i guess it will be at minimum $60 in US.And BTW anyone who calls this a demo needs therapy. A demo doesn't have 40 cars,4 tracks and rumble.

@amoe....i kno u are refering to me...its not bout defending sony for all i care the system can be 1K and if its not worth 1K i would 5h!t on it...buts ITS WORTH the 600 regardless how u put it....they are adding things to it constantly for free and u guys only pay the 1 time 600 u understand wut im saying? look the point is ppl complain about the $600 price tag when its worth the 600 atleast its not like the X360 its what now? 350 plus tax? and its not worth the 350...i would pay 299 for it tops..wit tax it should come to 325.....

I love Sony as much as the next person, but this is just getting ridiculous.  If the game is not being delayed, it's f***ing getting overpriced.  If it's getting a new feature, it ends up being the same damn thing we had a year ago with the previous console.  I know Sony wants games for their console, but lets have some f***ing quality control.  Microsoft won't let a game be released before meeting certain specs like Gamerscore or Live.  It's called damage control and you've let EA, FEAR, and other ports get away with s***ty frame rates and gameplay.  I'm just about done defending you.  Don't get me wrong, the $600 was one of my better investments, but enough is enough.Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu*k!!!!

God, I saw that coming, you write your opinion and the next guy (mystik-geezer) wants to slit your throat just because he is stuffed with money. He probably is even from the US so if you convert the 600 bucks into Euros (cuz I'm from europe) then you get a price tag which is really really high. I'm not saying that the hardware doesn't satisfy  the Price, but then I atleast expect Sony to make me happy with atleast one positive announcement every MONTH. But all we get is delays and crappy-ports, sure MGS4, Haze, RaCTOD and so on is nice, but the dissapointments outweigh the good things imo. And mystik is the childish one for making such unmature comments and using nasty language in an unacceptable amount. How is it that they're often failing to satisfy us, they have the receipt for making consumers happy - look at PS2 (120 millions). In the end I know Sony will take the lead but right now I feel dissapointed, and even nothing at this point to counter Halo 3 Launch...this is getting more and more sad :(

Sony couldn't have thrown anything to counter the Halo 3 launch.  Well, nothing that wouldn't lose them millions.  I guess they could have dropped the price of the PS3 to $99 and bundled games. But that's not even remotely business sensible.
