Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo 5 Prologue has debuted at the top of the UK All Format Charts following its release last Friday, beating out Resistance: Fall of Man as the fastest selling PlayStation 3 title within a week.
The latest instalment in the popular racing simulator - available as a PlayStation Network or Blu-ray title – has pushed former top spot holder Rainbow Six Vegas 2 down to second place.
Meanwhile, Infinity Ward’s critically acclaimed Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare continues to leave an impression on the charts over four months since its release in late 2007, nestled in at number seven among ubiquitous titles such as Brain Training and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.
See below for a full chart round up:
1. Gran Turismo 5: Prologue
2. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2
3. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
4. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008
5. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
6. Sega Superstars Tennis
7. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
8. Viking: Battle for Asgard
9. FIFA 08
10. Brain Training

I did'nt pre-order it and just cant get it anywhere oh well my fault, this is a red hot title!!!!
Judging by the million pre-orders in EU, this is just as expected. I anticipate next year when the full game is finally out! But as for the rest of the year, I truly believe there'll another two or possibly three games that will gain the exclusive platinum pre-orders! As for CoD4, I guess everyone is on the bandwagon due to the, so far, "disappointing" (IMO) upcoming sequel!
BTW, I'm holding off until the GT Driving Force steering wheel is released next month as a 'possible' wheel+game bundle!? We'll see.
Sony GT5:P FTW!
j do wht i did n buy it from the ps store :p
I LOVE this game! / from Sweden :)
Game in my town had about 8 copies left, I got mine on launch day, got it for £25, coulda got it for £17 online but i couldn't wait a weekend on delivery, and I got points on my Game card so it's not to bad. Almost completed A class now, why is the F430 so expensive lol!
I think its a rip off. Dont fancy paying for a demo. Gonna wait for the full game and not get half a game!
This game is flippin awesome when used with a force feed back steering wheel. Best racing game on the planet bar none!
@ chilledbreeze7 - A patch is coming to allow in-game voice chat and private races.
when will thy put more stuff on gran turismo tv...thought u can get top gear episodes etc....?
psn id: gingo.... not surprising as there was a million pre orders in EU alone plus all the people that didn't preorder and the people that bought off the store, just imagine what the sales will be when the full game gets released
I don't like expensive demos, half games, or driving sims. I guess that's 3 strikes for GT5P.
went to milton kenes yesterday and it was sold out in 2 game shops, 2 gamestation shops, HMV and a few more
The power of GT is here, no how much will it sell when the full game comes out
This is great for the PS3. It is quickly catching up to the 360's install base. With games like these, Sony's PS3 will only keep selling more.
